"Live" from St. Louis national 2020
Well the round track is filling up with sportsmen racers. It has been a pretty day, but cool and windy. Stock is supposed to start out in the morning at 8:30 with it 42 degrees! That is really chilly!!!
We drove around the pro pits and were surprised how sparsely populated it was. I guess they don't run until Sat so maybe they are mostly arriving tomorrow!! We all get 2 runs tomorrow, then round 1 No news much that isn't already on here, so more later. Patsy |

Re: "Live" from St. Louis national 2020
Baby, it’s cold outside !!! DA this morning is -946’ by our gauges !! 46 degrees! At least it didn’t get as cold as predicted ! The sun is shining now but lots of clouds, too. We are supposed to start out with stock in about an hour. Mineshaft does look like a possibility!!
More later! |

Look for a new[ redid] 1970 B/sa Camero..
his brother Wayne bought it & it was Cal's old car. Chris is only going to drive it for this race. |

The blue Camaro that Chris Stephenson was driving looks like Cal and Mary Ann Method’s old car! Air was-730’ The only live I guess is NHRA Tv |

Pro Stock, Pro Stock Motorcycle, Pro Mod, Factory Stock, Sportsman action halted
Due to a unique combination of cold temperatures an d wind direction, NHRA officials have postponed the conclusion of racing in the Pro Stock, Pro Stock Motorcycle, Pro Stock, and Factory Stock classes, as well as the balance of Lucas Oil Sportsman racing, at the Mopar Express Lane NHRA Midwest Nationals presented by Pennzoil. But not before sending a Top Dragster down. Care to guess how that went? Yup, one of them wrecked hard into the wall and folded up. Anyone ready to cancel 2020 yet and start fresh?? |

Re: "Live" from St. Louis national 2020
Tuned in long enough to hear Alan announce that Pro Stock and Pro Mod weren’t going to run so they were sending down the high downforce cars like TF and FC followed by TD and FS. Oh yea, let’s send down 175MPH cars on 9”’slicks into a stiff head/cross wind. What could go wrong?’ You could almost see Alan rolling his eyes like I can’t believe I’m saying this.

Has anyone heard how that top dragster driver is?
|
Re: "Live" from St. Louis national 2020
Hopefully someone will post how the TD driver is doing. I vote for Paula Cotten to be the new competition director at National Events. From FB it appears they were going right ahead and run the FS cars until they had a mutiny in staging. You can’t fix stupid, in fact Morgan would be a good competition director should Paula decline.
In any case NHRA.TV is mum on broadcasting the remainder of the PROs and sportsman classes today. That’s a shame if they don’t because it would make for a real racing show. I’m sick of their NITRO fantasy show. |

Re: "Live" from St. Louis national 2020
The driver is okay. He went live on Facebook last night and said he was just really sore and that he was out for about 2 minutes after the accident occurred so they were keeping him for a few more hours to see how he is. He said he had a headache and sore ribs but other than that he is fine. It’s a blessing!

Are they finishing today ?

Re: "Live" from St. Louis national 2020
Guess NHRA.TV as well as DRC packed up and left town....as of few minutes ago nothing is showing up on live timing. Hopefully someone will posts at least the final round results.

Re: "Live" from St. Louis national 2020
The TV coverage is still on. It started about 11:20 am eastern time, which would have been 10:20 in St. Louis. The sportsman racing started at 11 am Eastern time.
Kyle Rizzolli wound up winning stock over Brett Candies. Randi Lyn raced Kyle in the semi finals and was a bit late with 0.08 something light. Don't know who won Super stock as it was Rylee Speer and ... my mind is drawing a blank now. oh yes, Mr. Stephenson who won! It is 3:16pm and they have yet to run the final in Comp. Neff and Greencheck are in the final. The remaining pro categories are going to be run a t a later date and race. Glad Phil Oakley survived that hit into the wall. Both his and Delco's crashes looked similar, with them driving slightly left and attempting to correct right when they came out from the west bleachers and got hit by the wild cross wind.. The wind coupled with their correction to the right to stay in center of the lane.. put both into the guard rails near as I can tell. Where is Steve Gibbs when you need him. . Looks like I am too slow a typist or too verbose a writer. |
