65 olds 4gc floats

Brother is looking for floats for 65 olds 4gc floats. Been told they are unique?

Carb.us tech said he's never seen them in 30 years

Did some digging through my old GM parts books and the primary floats are different. Also are different between the performance version and standard.in Olds applications

There was 2 versions of the 65 olds 4gc. The high performance 442 used different floats. Primary bowl float #7029794. I see one for sale on ebay. Not sure of the secondary float #. The low performance 4gc used different floats. My books at work don't show #

The true 442 4GC carbs had plugs in the front to facilitate jet changes without pulling the top. :)

Chuck... Try these numbers 7028875 & 7012797. There is basically 3 style of floats that are somewhat common (for the vintage carburetor) that I have seen. "D" shape, Round, and Tapered Rectangle (kinda rare). There is Camelback or notched (rare). Were his originals foam or brass? On this side of the border, cores are tough to find and most times you can get away with used floats. Hope this may help...MB.

The three types of 4GC floats. Top ones are the pontoon style, middle are the 'D' or 'rounded' style, bottom ones are the phenolic. Make sure you use the correct top gasket (cutout for the float or solid).

Hope this helps. -Al
