Stock Eliminator Engine builder

Looking for some recommendations for an engine builder for stock eliminator. Big Block Chevy, starting with no parts. Not trying to set any records, just something that will get me 5-6 under, but again starting without any parts. 1967 Camaro car. NOT looking for a Tilburg price range engine. I am located in the Bowling Green KY area. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Tilburg X 2. I told Brian I wanted a 5 under motor to sort out the car and to learn what Stock Eliminator was all about several years ago.
Very fair priced and was the best purchase I made to get going.
It allowed me the know the reason I was slow was not the motor .... Lol
Sort out all the other components first , THEN build the motor you want.

Buy someone's back up engine and start with that. Then have a good piece built later. You'll spend 75% of the price of a Tilburg piece doing it your way. It only costs a little more to go first class.

If you want to go the 375 horsepower route Jim Cimarolli in Texas has a complete engine for sale. See Class Racer add.

More like 90% if you buy good parts that last!! The "go fast" part of any engine is just extra labor in the heads and intake!!

My add on the forum is for a 70 402-375. I also have a 396-375 that is available.

Would like to make a comment about not wanting Tilburg
His prices are very fair and correct
There are many Engine builders that are more money
Brian built me a 396/325 and his work is amazing and again fairly priced
I know you went putting Brian down but wanted to correct the idea that he is expensive
Just my thoughts ......

Tilburg is the man! You will not find a more honest and reasonable builder, and will work within your budget.

Really... It's the parts that are expensive. The labor is cheap!!! I guess he has a complete machine shop in his basement!!

I'm not quite understanding just what it is that you're trying to say here. The "labor" is what it is. When somebody has hundreds of thousands of dollars tied up in shop equipment then that person is entitled to charge what he has to charge to pay for it AND make a living.
The "parts" are what they are. If somebody wants to build a high-dollar combo using all after-market parts then it can get expensive. There ARE combos out there that can be built with inexpensive parts.
Where the major expense comes in is when the customer is unable or unwilling to do the time consuming "labor" himself. AND if the customer has no knowledge of what it takes to make his combo competitive. Knowledge is the expensive part! It is (and should be) VERY expensive to buy knowledge.

Armstrong Machine, talk to John. 902-765-4878. and your money is worth about 35% more than ours so you can afford to build a good one right off the bat.
