Re: Fallon Open?
I got a text from them today, saying they still had not heard back from the state. They intend to press on unless derailed by the state...

Re: Fallon Open?
I have never been to Fallon Raceway. It looks like it’s gonna be a 100+ degrees, what is the track and town like? I am guessing it’s pretty much like Palmdale, but don’t know.

Re: Fallon Open?
Try and not catch a crack on the top end while your looking anywhere but forward. Return road is tight, scales if used are old. Does get hot and there and not a tree to be found.
Now the good things. The folks that run it are super nice, Rick Carlson usually announces and is very sharp. The staging lanes and all that are nice. Fallon is a nice little town with friendly people. Did I mention it gets hot there. Bring water and shade! Best I've seen the fields get are about 25 stockers and 15 super stockers. They have golf cart races and E.T. pot races usually during the weekend. Plus a whole lot of qualifying passes. Paul Haszlauer |
Re: Fallon Open?
Forecast is mid to high 80s...
Be advise that there is road construction on US 95 just north of Coaldale Junction. US95 will be closed and the traveling public will be detoured to US 6 to SR 360 to Mina and back to US95. Construction is to repair roadway damaged by earthquakes a couple of weeks ago. lf you are coming up US 395 after going over Montgomery Pass take a left on SR 360 to Mina and back to US95. |

Re: Fallon Open?
Track staff works real hard to make it a good weekend, I went last year and we had a great time, It does get hot, the elevation is around 4,000 ft but it’s a good time, I have been a total of 4 times, John

Re: Fallon Open?
Track is about what you would expect
for a small town/small market local race track. But the people are very helpful and friendly! Track is a way out of town or any services. Do not expect a big crowd.....Some years back when Jon Jr. won a Divisional there and set O/SA Record = Only 22 Cars in Stock which is as low as I can recall out here in Div. 7 Here in Vegas = We have had to take the fastest 128 for eliminations and a few guys went home without racing. I loaned out our 80 Mirada to one of our crew guys and he was #128 @ .41 under ( Bumped out Robbie my other son ). Everybody out here would love to race.....But no worries about having to qualify fast enough to race in Fallon Eliminator. |
Re: Fallon Open?
Years ago I use to say Fallon is at the end of nowhere because you have to go through the middle of nowhere to get there.

Re: Fallon Open?
Anyone have any further information if race is ON!
Jon Jr. is going thru his Stock and SS right now getting ready to go. I will be going with him if they are racing and then to Denver.... I will be spectating as I just have not been feeling good enough to tow and race. Hope to see a lot of our friends = new and old at the races! |

Re: Fallon Open?
All this sitting around bench racing. The race actually sneaked up on me.
For some reason I thought we were done til August. My car has been sitting in Paul Wong's shop resting. Time to give it a once over real quick. Our weather here lately has terrible winds. Fallon has a freeze warning this morning. The hot weather won't be a factor that's for sure. Hope I can get out of town to visit with friends, smell racing fuel and hear "Stock to the lanes!" I'm the last person still alive that doesn't use a cell phone.I just love it when someone ask to scan some code off my phone. Thank God for my beautiful wife. Cash has less value now a days. Paul Haszlauer 7019 C/SA |

Jon and I both lost 2nd round.
Jon would have had 3rd round bye. I would have had 4th round bye. The Gentlemen that beat the two of us like Drums are now going into the Finals! We are heading to Denver Regional = If you are there stop by and visit! |
