Jake,

Governor Pritzker's plan restricts groups of over 50 until there is a vaccine or a treatment. Can't see any events then in Illinois for 2020 and maybe 2021.

Governors can not make laws - they make suggestions/requests and you can not be arrested by the police for disobeying a suggestion/request from the Governor .. we are obeying by following our own free will not by following the constitution.

Somewhere I saw that Illinois is reopening in several zones. the areas in the central and southern part of the state will be the first and the Chicago area will be the last to open.

I for one don't wish to live in fear. We used to have a choice. I still want one. I'm not sure in your State but mine ( Ma.) has had more cases than most. The average age is 82 and out of over 5900 deaths 73 were under 50 years old. And most of them had underlying health issues. Every death is one to many but one thing we all know. We will all die at some point. Until then I would like to live the rest of my life enjoying freedoms our Country was founded on. Not that I will be stupid about this. I wear a mask when I'm in public. I don't wish to get into big crowds. But I will be at a race track as soon as I can. For those that don't want to go out stay home. That is your choice. Those that are vulnerable take the extra precautions be smart about the choices you make. The disappointment I have about this is how bad our States did with our geriatric population. BP

What this means is you want to enjoy the freedom to possibly infect others with a virus that has killed almost 100,00 people in this country in a few months. Sounds pretty selfish to me. So it's f ock the health care workers and the doctors eh? Just so you can make a few laps down a dragstrip? Really? If you get to make some runs soon, good luck and be safe. Maybe try and think of someone other than yourself.

Maybe Paul will realize the topic is Chicago, and not Covid 19, of which I responded to.
The only testicle problem I have is cancer, and a smart azz like Paul. Just curious what Paul races. I can't find that he ever raced....hum. The only thing I can find is he has a 750 sq ft/2 bedroom home. Nothing wrong with that, I was curious why he would flame me????

Supposedly NASCAR sold part of the land that the Cup track is on, and MIGHT clost that track. So far, no rumors of the dragstrip being closed/sold.

Funny thing is, our governor is part of an investment group that owns a lot of medical companies. One of them is now selling test kits in Illinois. Nothing fishy there......

The Illinois Constitution, Article V, Section 8, states that "The Governor shall have the supreme executive power, and shall be responsible for the faithful execution of the laws." The purpose of the Office is to ensure proper execution of the laws in Illinois.

We all have our crosses to bear Mr. Hansen. Hopefully with some kind of treatment your illness will diminish or disappear.

Forty years ago my brother and I raced a bracket car and I haven't been down a track since. Looks like you haven't raced in almost ten years. What's that have to do with anything?

The last time I was up in that area there was huge logistic centers being built all around the track. Also 1/2 dozen of them built right off of Rt 80. Most seem to be empty. Article in local paper said the NASCAR group that owns the tracks was just selling off some of its unused ground.

Greg,
I see they made it the last race of the Division 3 season October 9 - 11. Maybe they're hoping he will cave on his demands by then? With his current plan do you see it happening? Illinois is in Phase 2 now and currently his rules are:

Phase 3 is offices, salons/barber shops can open with capacity limits & safety precautions. Face coverings are required, gatherings of 10 or fewer are allowed.

Phase 4 is childcare centers, schools, bars and restaurants can reopen, all with safety guidelines from the IDPH. Gatherings of 50 or less people allowed. Travel resumes.

A move to Phase 5 requires that a vaccine or effective treatment MUST be widely available or a region has herd immunity/no new cases over a sustained period of time. Conventions, large events, festivals are permitted, businesses, schools, recreation can resume with safety guidance.

There were 8 confirmed cases of SARS, and 0 deaths in the United States. The death toll in the United States from COVID-19 is approaching 95,000, and it will continue to increase daily because there is no treatment or cure. There is no comparison between SARS and COVID-19.

Thanks for reminding, sometimes it helps as arguments. I think that government should really bother about citizens of their state. For example, if someone will break windows in your local store, and you're an owner - they should make something not just to find who did it, but also help with replacement of windows. When we had such issues, we asked guys from glass replacement in home windows chicago company, and they replaced us dozens of windows in the building, which we've started using as a new store.
