Complete National Open Schedule ?

Did a search. Didn't find much.

So, does somebody have a link to a list of all National Open Races scheduled this season ?

Or are these races supposed to be a surprise to everyone when they pop up ?

Missed the results of some of these races last year, because I didn't even know about 'em.

Go to each divisional website, example www.nhradiv3.com. click on schedule, click on national open and bam there are the dates for the national opens for that division. Looks like Divisions 1,2, and 4 do not have national opens

OK. Thanks guys !

So, that means there is no one link where all National Opens, are listed. You gotta dig 'em out.

I'll go thru & get the info & add it to my files, so I can refer to it each week, to see if there is a nat open that week.

Thanks again ! :)

100 % right, but some div's post them on there site under schedule's, not that hard as they most have top sportsman and top Dragster posted. i asked for this last week and it got posted here under Stock/SuperStock for D2, everyone goes to there div.site for anything. D2 should post it there as well. Here is another question i would like to know, now that Div. races upper there entry and there payout(good deal) did the open,s up there entry's and THERE payout's, just haven't seen anything.

Asking for clarification only but how did you arrive at the car count numbers? Interesting chart, amazing how far some racers have to travel....

That's a great map …… just don't use it to find the National Open in Miramichi, New Brunswick, Canada. At least Ontario is shown ;-)

Can you set the record at an open? Or do they just allow pure stock and crate motor cars in to raise the car count, or like inviting that creepy uncle to dinner that has no where to go? Also, will they tear you down at any point? Since there are no printed rules in the NHRA rule book. I am thinking PS and CM is one step from letting bracket cars into the race.

But correct me if I am wrong, if you run too far under, maybe the AFHS will be triggered.

Thank you !!

An IHRA Car setting a National Record at an NHRA Meet
That would be awesome !

Would love to have my car trigger the AFHS...
Maybe I will get a Heads Up race against another F/PS car..!!!

I go where my business is wanted !

Re: Complete National Open Schedule ?

I’m trying to keep my sarcastic side under control because the topic warrants our due respect....but it’s tough not to let loose!

I can only speak to the Canadian Division 1 NO events, where the IHRA classes have been welcome since they were shunned by their parent. Car counts were most definitely enhanced by recognizing the orphan CM & Pure Stock entries. As I recall, those folks would have been scrambling to field a traditional Sportsman car for the first event following the IHRA announcement. (Cayuga, Ontario 2017 ) Plain & simple, the olive branch was never intended to be the whole tree. If a competitor with a former IHRA combo is satisfied with the 6 Canadian races combined with a local Stock/SuperStock series schedule, 20 odd trips to the track makes up a busy summer in these parts.

HOWEVER, I truly believe that the NHRA was forecasting an unknown percentage of converts from the defunct IHRA program. In no way am I suggesting that everyone has the means to shed their skin and move on, but it just makes sense to conform to the structure of a strong organization which has done a great deal to soften the blow of rejection.

I don’t give myself credit for much, but I am very happy to say that I saw the graffiti on the bricks and stuck with an NHRA legal combination well before the fan blades turned brown!
