I am glad that everyone enjoyed the pictures as much as I enjoyed posting them. I will be attending the Norwalk National event in a couple of weeks, and I will post pictures from there when I return home. I will get as many pictures of the Factory Stock Showdown cars as I can.

Great job on the pictures. I have a question? Did the "Heavy Hitter" 68 Chevelle come from California? I can't remember who owned it, but did see it run here on the west coast years ago.

That car has had quite a few owners,I believe Rob Robinson from Ore. would run in CA. in the mid to late 80's.Then it was sold to John Melvin who was from CA. Top qualifier back then. gsa612

Shaun, thank you for the kind words. I served on a nuclear submarine and 2 submarine rescue ships during my enlistment which was from 1967 to 1971.

If it is, I believe it was originally John's car that Brian bought from him.

Just to clear this all up, I bought John,s old car 15 years ago and still have it, 15 years ago i raced a DA car, sold it when i got Johns old car, 2 years ago i bought the old DA car back and sold it to John and he redone the car into it,s form today and it fly,s. Hope this help's.
