Rockingham Div. and Open race grade points
 

Ok can someone help me out here, i know Rich is at Reynolds race this week, So the Rockingham Div race in Oct. is Fri. and Sat. and the Open is on Sun. Ok what i need to know is that if you will get 2 grade point, for both race, 1 is a Lucas Oil race and 1 is a none sponsored race, so ya should get a grade point. Rich is trying to help racers, 2 races 1 road trip. I have heard you will only get 1 grade point for both races, not worth it $160 and race for $1000, I know at lease 7 cars will leave on Sunday, Now the next weekend at Mooresville is a deal, open race Fri and Sat and a CCRA race on Sunday, i will get a payout sheet, i know if 30 cars it will pay more then the open. I will try to get with Rich and fine out more info on the grade points.

Brian from my understanding you should get two grade points for the Rockingham deal. It’s two races one Lucas and one open. Youbget grade points for opens like mooresville so it should be no different. I’ll see if I can find out for sure and let you know.

I talked to Rich about this last week, he told me as of now you will only get one grade point. He is working on trying to make it that you can get two. If that happens D-2 will post it.

What Denny said is correct. NHRA has some kind of BS rule that a driver can only get 1 point unless it was 2 Lucas races. Rich has been working to get this changed for several weeks.

So when NHRA held doubles in Atlanta and Kansas the participants only got 1 grade point I believe not.

Hello everyone
I know there has been a question about getting a grade point at the Rockingham National Open since it was the same weekend as the Lucas oil event. There has been some kind of rule previously that said you could not get a second grade point from a National open within the same week as a Lucas event. Since the issue came up Rich Schaefer has been working very hard to get this issue resolved. As of this past weekend that issue is all but resolved so you will be able to get two grade points if you participate in both races. Watch the D2 facebook page for the official announcement very soon. There are still a couple of hoops for Rich to jump through but I am very confidant it will happen.

Announced yesterday that this will indeed be 2 grade points. Thank you to Rich and D2 crew for getting this outdated policy changed!

Do you have a link to this announcement? I checked NHRA, Div.2, Div.2 facebook, and Rockinghams website and there is nothing posted as of yet.

Click on the Div. 2 Facebook website. On the right, there is a "Visitor's Posts" section. Scroll down to the one by Michael Smith made on Oct. 1, then click on the "11 comments" link. The thread confirms a point for each event.

Well we are almost a week away and nothing in writing yet about 2 grade points for Rockingham. Well alot of people ask me why so concerned about getting 2 grade points. Well i will explain, most of you know i have 2 SS cars and 1 Stocker, this grading system is so screwed up, it is unbeiveable, {not so on the spelling of that word,lol} Ok if you have 2 cars or just build a new one and tried to enter it in a National event, ok i have in stock
4 grades and Combo of 13 and in SS i have grade 9 and combo 13, so i'am watching CTL 2 race and stock is filling fast, so i enter when grade 5 is open, NOW i used my combo grades, Now i cannot enter SS, cause i used my combo grade points, you have no more grade points for this event. Done, now isn't that the most stupidest system ever invented,and no you cannot with draw from stock, and reenter in SS and stock when the grade points open lower, you cannot enter at all. So i offered my #2 SS Camaro to my friend to drive. Getting back to the grade point at Rockingham, hope it gets in writing soon. Thanks Brian
