"Live From" Maple Grove - The Dodge Nationals
 

Hey all, I am not at the track yet as its only a few hour ride for me. They told us to stay away until Wednesday morning. I did find out that the pits are soft, but they are going to give it a shot. The run schedule has been released. People are still dropping out and it may give us room enough to park the rigs where they wont get stuck.

I will keep everyone updated if any new info becomes available. The weather has been horrible in the northeast. It has being raining 4 days straight with more predicted. The weekend looks good, but getting through the next few days will be a tough one.

I'm sure by now everyone knows the story but... Sitting outside the track in stacking waiting for parking to begin at noon rather than what they originally said would be 9. However, I'm not sure waiting until noon is going to improve weather- and pit-wise except that more people are dropping out as we sit and wait.

I just pulled in to the stacking area.... well the top end of the track. There are about 60 rigs in the normal stacking area on the grass, but it was to soft to to park anyone else. This is the second time I believe they parked rigs on the track. They told us noon parking, but they have already started bringing rigs in. The pits do not look bad, but you know how that goes, I am sure there are soft spots. There is no standing water, so lets hope we all get park without getting stuck.

I will be back later with an update, the entry list for SS, Stk, SC, and SG is now down to 183 from the 235 plus that were entered.

We are down to 168 for SS, Stk, SC and SG. Pretty much everyone is parked that will be racing this week. It just stop raining, we had a rain shower for about 20 minutes.

The first two photos are what I thought might be a rig getting stuck. He rolled in the spot with no issues, the ground is soft but it seems to support the heavy rigs in that area. I found a few car out before the showers hit.

NHRA has emailed us that tomorrows schedule has been revised. Start time is now 11am.

Good morning all, its a little misty out with some fog. Track drying is under way and we are supposed to start at 11 with Stock. As you can see from the photo, with have the fog on the hills, a trade make of Maple Grove when the weather gets like this. The weather for today is no rain and the sun may come out in the late afternoon, well see.

Sorry guys, its been nuts. As soon as you make your run and working on the car a bit its time to get back to the lanes. We have been through three rounds of Stock and Super Stock. Class is still on the schedule for Stock. Comp gets a qualifier and then Stock class. I did manage to get photos and will post later today.

Right now there are a few sprinkles and we are on hold.

We have been done for quite a while. Hats off to NHRA for getting everything in today. Even with the late start, we got all the schedule racing along with Stock class in. Tomorrow's schedule has been revised, Stock will be out out 9:15 instead o 8:45 for first round.

Good morning everyone, its cloudy this morning, but only a slight chance of rain is predicted in the afternoon. The rest of the weekend looks to be picture perfect. with partly sunny skies and temps in the low 80's.

First round for Stock will lead off today's action at 9:15. Only one round of eliminations for the sportsman today. A few more photos from yesterdays action.

Start time has been pushed to 11:30 for Stock. They canceled Comp and Alcohol qualifying. Its not raining but there is a mist in the air and its taking longer to dry the track.

Larry here’s what happened when I changed the oil in the car I put 5 quarts in got a phone call after the phone call was done went back to working on the car and put another 5 quarts in chased my problem all weekend to find it on the last run. I think we got it but won’t know till the Dutch

That happened at work one of the engine builders put 7 qts and then went to lunch. he then put another 7 qts in. i dyno'd the engine it was 100 HP down, drained the oil and power went back to where it was. It took awhile to figure it out for sure

This happens more often than not. Buddy of mine added twice the oil in his SG Chevy II. He made a pass and the car was smoking big time. He said he got distracted while changing the oil. Life and our damn phones get in the way.

Tom won comp at Keystones last year. AND NO, LOL! Has his own engine shop he started with Bob Benza when Bob was racing Pro Stock. Last I heard Bob Cave was working with him and good hp out of that shop.
