Dry ice?
Was that dry ice being put in the fuel cell of Emmons car? Did anybody notice how many time Erica checked the air pressure on Emmons car? Is dry ice legal? and how much ET pick up can you expect on a hot day? Just in general. I know each combo is different. . Great job by Emmons team making it to the finals.

Is dry ice illegal?

Re: Dry ice?
I don’t know. Just asking about putting it in your fuel. New to stock eliminator. Just wondering if I need to do it also.

Yes, more fuel.

Re: Dry ice?
At the old Vegas track I had a heads up and put fuel in fuel jug, set jug in ice chest. Covered fuel cell with wet towels and ice. Filled car with cold fuel and picked up a tenth. I was still 2 tenths behind but it did work on a 90 degree day

Re: Dry ice?
What difference does it make how many times Erica checked the air pressure?

Re: Dry ice?
I not gonna name names but a few year ago I stood guard as my boy D2 racers
Put dry ice right into the fuel cell. I wanted do run but as he said Perrone dry ice is just real cold air just don’t tight fuel cell lid. Lol |
Re: Dry ice?
It shouldn't matter if the lid is tight if your vent is working properly.

Re: Dry ice?
From what I've seen it doesn't seem to "boil" and churn gas as much as it does water. Foam in the cell may keep it above the fuel if you don't force it into the mesh. Anyone ever test to see how much, if at all, it actually cools the intake charge? A carb atop a cast iron intake must be like a blast furnace compared to the fuel temp. Might it just be a distraction? Like having Erica endlessly checking your tire pressure?
I know it does keep your frozen food frozen in a good cooler!! |
Re: Dry ice?
I doubt cooling the fuel would make much difference. Now cooling the intake air would. I don’t have any problems with fuel volume. But denser intake air would be a game changer. No one seems to run a cool can any more.

Re: Dry ice?
I think that big wheelies and harder launches just phased out the cool cans.

Re: Dry ice?
I put one on a racecar back in the 80s.Had cool fuel, but no fuel pressure.

Re: Dry ice?
If you see someone wearing heavy rubber gloves in the pits, they mite have some dry ice,
