Re: Another track closing
That's a bummer. I like that place. So, no Divisional in September I guess?👎

Wow! Serious bummer!

Re: Another track closing
That is terrible. Very nice track but nobody seems to be able to make money there.

Re: Another track closing
Hate losing that track. I read the lady (owner?) saying that points race was moving to Ennis.

Re: Another track closing
Jeff Teuton is it worth buying and keeping it running?

Re: Another track closing
As I understand, Nelson and Marla have been in a long battle with the landlord. They didn't want to continue putting money on a facility that requires many upgrades. Therefore, as part of the settlement, they had to give up the lease of the facility early.
The rumor mill is that the landlord wants to use the property to build a runway. It also appears that they are working with the city to find land to build a new facility. |
Re: Another track closing
Nice Place. I'm sure Bobby Brannon knows the details. I think he does business with the property owners all 157 Acres of it. I looked at it some time back, but just a little far from where I live and now I'm just too damn old and fat. Interstate 49 Exit at track, not far from Shreveport where 20 goes Dallas to Atlanta, and not far from Texarkana where 30 runs Memphis to Dallas. I 49 runs from Lafayette, LA to Texarkana. Place even has a beer garden.

If the Lucas race moves to Ennis I may put the SS carb on the Super - 10 :)

Re: Another track closing
I have checked, but can not find it listed at Ennis yet. Just wanting to know if the date is the same.

Re: Another track closing
Marla and Nelson are really great operators for the track. Can not find a better hooking race track. Any day when the track is rented first car goes straight down the track. Truly the track is going to be missed.
The owners of the track doesn't want to do any updates. So sad. My 2cents worth. |
Re: Another track closing
I remember it as a nice facility with large spiders and red mud when it rained.

Re: Another track closing
Really unfortunate that another (good) facility closes. Seems like we will be left with about 15 to 20 places to race.

Re: Another track closing
Looks like the track may stay in business, but with new operators.
