Live from Epping,NH , the New England Nationals
Arrived last night at 7 ,#115 in stacking. Currently (10:30 am) we are waiting to be parked and they are up to #80. The gounds are wet. They were wet already and then it rained hard for an hour last night. The sun is out and it is beautiful now. I hope to give a daily report and hoping others can chime in.

Dave , Thanks for doing what you can , when you can. Hopefully, DRC coverage in a timely manner.
Guys, help Dave out a bit. He's racing a stick shift car. |
Re: Live from Epping,NH , the New England Nationals
Nice breeze and a spectacular day today. All racers got in and parked. There are some areas that are to wet to pit in, but things are drying out fast. The barometer is .2 lower than when we had our All Star Racing Assoc race here 3 weeks ago. I did hear that it was 1600 ft today. Expect it to be better tommorow.

Re: Live from Epping,NH , the New England Nationals
Some racers got stuck in the mud and had to get towed out. This delayed the parking process. Dave Mohn (Division 1 Director) actually came out to the stacking area to let everyone know what was going on. Kudos to him. There were hardly any lines at racer registration. Things went smooth.

Re: Live from Epping,NH , the New England Nationals
A great day of qualifying yesterday. Temp got as high as 73 with lots of sunshine. We hit the mineshaft number, so there were some fast runs made. I am happy racing the trusty Camaro with the backup motor in it. My a/s car is at home. The weather has ranged from 1000 to 2000 ft approx. The wind has been somewhat tail, and in the last session was certainly responsible for myself and a few other going slightly faster. Not alot of breakage thst i saw, Fred Thebault was swsping trans last night. The only car i saw abort a run was Scott Gove in the first ss session and he just went left on the 1,2 shift i believe. He came back in the 2nd and 3rd sessions to lay down fantastic runs and qualify 1st easily. I expect it to be a little faster for rd 1 today as the temp was 3 colder this morning (47) at 630 and the baro is is up slightly. Stock is out first at 915 for 1st round

I know everybody is really super touchy here, and we are busy and all that, but holy smokes no ladder sheets etc. Wow, hope next week isn't going to turn out like this...but either way I'll be there.

Congrats to Dave Ficacci and Tommy Auger for W and RU in Stock. Congrats also to the Worner twins in SS. Nice job!

Re: Live from Epping,NH , the New England Nationals
Time for a followup and a little info.
The only headsup run I saw was between Mike Cotton and Mike Iacono who was driving Ken Richards car. They were closely matched and Iacono got the win. Scott Gove was running 2 cars and was rushing to get back up with the SS car when he got beat. The wind blew every day and it caused some to miss the dial, especially on Saturday. The starting line was a non issue , there were run after run of high flying wheels up action in Stock and Super Stock. Nice to see the guys walking the pits promoting the upcoming PC Richards/Canadian Dragracing Hall of Fame National Open race in Cayuga. Should be a great event. I did not stay for Sundays action, but at 6 am when I left it was about the same temp maybe a little cooler. Congrats to the winners and runners up, it was a great event |
Re: Live from Epping,NH , the New England Nationals
Just a heads up...the Epping National Meet will be moved to July 6-8 next year.
