As a hard core fan I'd buy one too!

Re: License Plate
They are very cool. I would love to have one also. I believe they are a product of a Stock racer from Montana who passed away some time ago. Can't remember his name, but sure someone on here will recall.

Not sure where Bob purchased his, but you can create one similar at this site below. I have used this site in the past with good results. They also give discounts on multiple copies and free shipping. I created one very similar to Bob's just for shxt and giggles in just a few minutes. Not nearly as good as Bob's, but the message is the same.

Re: License Plate
Would that have been Roger Rice from Helena Mt?
One of the funniest and most unique racers that I have ever had the pleasure to spend some time! |

Re: License Plate
R Roger Rice was quite a guy, I still have an small envelope he gave me years ago, that said "3 piece chicken dinner". Inside were 3 kernels of corn!!
Funny guy. |
Re: License Plate
R.Roger Rice was a very colorful stock eliminator racer. He was forever carefully disguised as a responsible adult. Godspeed my friend.........

Re: License Plate
Joe Martens has one on his Camaro. He may be of some help as well.

Here's a JPEG file, really close to what you are looking for. My software won't allow me to re-size fonts incrementally, so it's just a bit off, but it may look better in a larger format.
Most any sign-shop should be able to make a plate from this. If not, I can supply you with another graphics format they can use, just let me know. Lew |

Re: License Plate
I'll buy two of them. Yes, Roger was a character. Raced him at the Winternationals once. You had to love him.

Re: License Plate
Nice job Lew, looks very close to the original.
I know we have gotten a little off the intent of this thread, but good to pay tribute to an obviously fun guy to be around and race with. Didn't Roger race a 66/67 Comet C/SA big block car?? What ever happened to it, just curious?? |
Re: License Plate
The plate and the man, not off topic a bit. The car was around G/SA, 390 power?

We've all heard of - The Man, The Myth, The Legend. Well this is - - - The Man, The Plate, The Stories. Good stuff like this is what makes Stock Eliminator so much fun for everyone. |
Re: License Plate
Roger Rices Stocker was a blue 66 Comet Cyclone GT with a 390, normally running in G or H/SA. I know a few others have owned the car since Rogers passing, not sure where it is now.

Re: License Plate
John Cox in Houston has it now.
|
Re: License Plate
I was able to borrow an original plate from Kevin Helms and had a sign painter duplicate it. Kevin was also generous enough to give me a matching t-shirt!
|
Re: License Plate
Maybe he should have said, "Stock Eliminator Serious Work".!
