Well we have been home from our train trip to New Orleans for almost 16 hours and we are on the road again! We are going to get to the other side of Nashville and then stop for the night! Should be to the Rock by dark tomorrow !!

We are here!! They did not park today and when we got here all the road into the track was filled. So instead of staying out on the road we squeezed in and are parked in the sand! Nobody was giving out numbers and it looks very disorganized. Those of you arriving overnight, I have no idea where you will go unless someone comes out and directs you somewhere and I have not seen anyone.


We immediately went down to find Joe and Alice when we got here for our evening cocktails. And Jeff Teuton will be pleased to know that we drank from proper stemware. Looking forward to seeing Jeff and Mrs. Carolyn here tomorrow! We saw a trailer from Connecticut and a Division 5 trailer on our walk up to the Tysingers! Looks like there will be people from all over here!


Oh, anybody coming in from Charlotte down 74, the traffic really sucks there!!


Well more tomorrow. We are supposed to start parking at 9!

I heard that some of the congestion is due to the roundy round dirt track guys having a big event across the road.

Tim, there is not a round track race here this weekend!

Today was test day. Took 3 runs to get the car to hook! Hopefully it will be better tomorrow!

I haven't taken any pictures yet! I left my good camera at home (along with my long pants and pills)! The weather was beautiful today and is supposed to be all weekend!

Another beautiful day here at the Rock! A little more overcast and 56 degrees outside right now with 29.79 and 92% humidity. Super street has been called up and then we are next for our final qualifying run. Then on to round 1 this afternoon. A few more cars came in overnight to add to the 67 that were here yesterday. I hope the announcer does a better job today. He knows very few of the racers names and then half the time doesn't announce them until after they have gone down the track! Makes it difficult if you are trying to write down the times! Oh well!! More later!!

It looks like the 350/355 hp COPO cars will have to weigh a little more come Tuesday. 3.25% of 355 will be 12 more hp, making the new power to 367hp. I bet that will make a few new copo owners real happy. The new factor will be 8.70

I'm not sure if I missed this rule or what, although I think it's an awesome idea to tear down anyone that goes 1.20 or more under, but I do believe this is the first one I've heard of. Car owner Daren Poole-Adams has been known to set a few precedences!

It is a good thing, as long as they continue to do it! We are are good, having a great time but I'm sorry to say my car let Justin down this weekend. We have all winter to get it straight!

D3 has done this before. Not sure how consistsntly it is applied though. I think it is a very good idea. Heck, I think they should award points for record setting as well! You would think the manufacturers that sell the new cars would love that idea! They could even sell "tear down services" for hire for those that didn't want to do their own wrenching! :).

It was the right thing to do. We really didn't mean to go quite that fast. With only one time trial left after fixing an electrical issue I told AJ to take the number one spot. We really thought it was going to go 1.13 under. Evidently the car likes the latest changes that we made!

I have to say that the NHRA tech guys did a great job in a tough situation. They were very professional and treated us well. Thanks!

To those that were impacted by the HP hit, you have my sincere apology. Obviously, I know the effort and expense that goes into these cars. Even though this was a great weekend for Poole-Adams Racing and our sponsors I hope that we have not caused too much grief for others.

Daren, this is a performance category, at least that is what I have read on here by several racers. So you hit the AHFS, congratulations. Don't be apologetic, be proud of your performance. Tell them what I and others have been told, "go work on your stuff"

I understand the protecting your combo scenario, but, oh well, too bad. At least your combo got hit due to performance, not the stroke of a pen.

i was there for the "48 hr racing experience" with the "Over the Hill Ohio Gang" as we left Columbus at 6:30 friday night, I pulled into the gate (driving) at 4am, one 1 qualifying, ended up 15th with a new Holley system Ralphie put in, car was leaving like a snail, and still went -94 under. Rich red lighted first round and we left for back home Sunday morning and I pulled into Rich's shop around 6pm Sunday night. Here is some pictures i took ,wish i could of took more, i was just worn out from trip, went down and drank some beers with Quack and called it a night.
