Enders and Jeggie switch to Mopar

Do you suppose is a result of better HP resulting from the fuel injection change?????? Or just more financial support from Mopar??

The latter, Allen Johnson's interview on the move shed's more light on Mopar changing the way they do sponsorships.

Money,money,money,......AJ forced out after 20 years with Mopar, hopefully he secures funding for the 2016 season.

I don't know the facts here, but it would also seem to be a statement about backing from GM. Here we have two multiple world champs who won with chevy and they can't seem to secure backing from chevy.

Now that's sad.

Roy and Allen Johnson epitomize what a PRO team should be IMO. MOPAR kicking them to the curb (so they can sell more econo-Darts?) is yet another example of 'it's all about the $$'. Have all the respect in the world for Erica. Back in 2008 I went to the Seattle race and stopped in Auburn at Mickey D's and the whole Cunningham crew dropped in (minus Mr C of course) and was really impressed by how she conducted herself when I exchanged a few words with her. Jeggie, not so much...

My XMAS wish is that Westcott gets the Mustang out and kicks all their butts.

Love Erica too, she is a great person. Jeggie comes across as he is better than everyone else, not impressed with him. I guess when you have money you can act that way.JMO

I just hope Charlie gets his car out and is relatively competitive.

I know its the slow season and there is not much to talk about, and I'm probably get slammed but why is there a discussion about Pro Stock here?

Pro Stock has always been a class of interest for stock and super stock racers. Pro Stock is the ultimate performance based N/A class.

That's what the Competition Plus article indicated (sorry, can't provide link right now).

I don't understand the problems. It's just dumb iron & aluminum. MOPAR, GM & Ford don't make those parts. Outside vendors do. They just assemble parts to build cars. The race versions of those factory Pro Stock race engines are are more similar to the other two brands than many realize. Costs money to run those cars. Teams have to what they have to do.
Been a few years, but a friend of mine was running very well in Pro Stock, the cylinder head guy he was working with told me he used the same CNC program for the ports in the GM & Dodge Pro Stock heads. They ain't all that different.

I always preferred Funny Car myself.

I loved P/S until the cars lost the factory looks. S/SS & sportsman are where I will always belong.

Pro Stock is like your big brother, who went astray somewhere along the line: You still love him, but can't believe he ended up where he is.

I remember when the US Pro Stock Team came to Epping. Probably the greatest drag racing event that I have ever witnessed.

If you are into making N.A. horsepower, those guys just about have to be your heros.
If you like blowers, nitrous, no cubic inch limit, etc, you may like pro mod.

That's why I thought those guys drove Mopars already.

I Think you have the wrong take on Jeggie. He loves sportman racing and I have always found he to be a great guy. He has always been friendly to me. I do have a yellow Car though.

I also think Jeggie is a good guy and likes sportsman racing-two years ago at seattle nationals he jumped in my buddy's 72 challenger and they drove around the pit area talking to fans and racers-and they both had a blast-Brian Seaberg B/S 428

I would agree. Even though he sponsors many many other sportsman races,he has supported the A/S and A/SA Challenge over the years. One year, he was super busy at INDY but made time to call me on my cell. He and his wife along with their pup. Met me in the pits on their golf cart and personally delivered gift certificates. Sounds like a small thing, but it isn't. No doubt, they operate on a budget most of us can't understand, but there are many people with the same business interests and means that don't give sportsman racing a second thought. I think we can cut him some slack.

In 2010 at St. Louis, Jerry Duke won Super Gas, his first National Event, a little less than two years after his brother Ronnie passed away. After all the pictures were taken, we were loading up preparing to go home, and Samantha showed up in our pits. It seems that Jeg found out about Jerry's very special win, and sent the big Lucas banner from the winner's circle over to Jerry as a gift. It meant a great deal to Jerry, as well as to Kevin Cradduck and to me, it was a very special weekend. Jeg and his bunch are good people, and real friends to the sportsman racers.

ok, this might be turning into the I love Jeg thread, but it's important to keep the record straight. several years ago when he was racing for Cagnazzi, the trash guys came by to empty the barrels at the end of the day and Jeg ran out and gave them all hats for free.

I'm sure he could have done nothing or send a crew guy out but he didn't.

Same here. I saw Jeggie @ Topeka last year. He and his dog were watching the Sportsman classes run. He seemed to be very cordial.

I normally steal the nice clean lined trash cans from the Jeg area to put beer in at Indy which has accommodated lots of my friends or lots of people who don't like me, but like the beer in the clean Jeg's can.
