Mr. Jeff and his pink Challenger

It's always fascinating to have a conversation with Jeff Teuton, even more so when it's about his pink Challenger and it's role in cancer awareness.

Re: Mr. Jeff and his pink Challenger
It looks like B/SA class is going to be interesting with some of the heavy hitters in Vegas!
My bet is on the hefty and corpulent guy that likes BBQ from Donaldsonville, Louisiana, that lives now in Pasadena, Texas, and drives the Corvette! :) |
Re: Mr. Jeff and his pink Challenger
Very nice car. What engine combo for C/SA??

Re: Mr. Jeff and his pink Challenger
Nice story. I do have one question. How do you get 105 hp taken off a combination before it ever goes down the track?
|
Re: Mr. Jeff and his pink Challenger
Nice plan guys but I guess someone FORGOT to tell The Jim's that they were supposed to run B/SA .

Re: Mr. Jeff and his pink Challenger
J Allen is the fast car that I think Jimmy can't deal with, heck I got beat by a really good '62 car. I am just in the way! But we are working on it.

Re: Mr. Jeff and his pink Challenger
Hey Barry. The pink car is a SRT8 392 or 6.4 (metric) combo. There have been appox. 40000 avg. per year Showroom cars built since 2008...IE STOCKERS/ Superstockers, built per year. That is about 40000 percent more cars than than all the bigs have built of 67-9 camaros (which I still own) 70-72, cuda challengers or 67-70 Mustangs. And as far as the defactoring, If you want the fictitious NHRA factor...........@ 485 per, would put it the same as my 426 Combo. I can tell you all because I actually Dyno all our stuff that it is at least 260HP behind our old 426 NHRA Combo rated at 490, because I hit it at INDY. ........We got out run at Vegas heads up and it pissed me off.....so instead of typing, we went to work and tested, and gained a tenth to the 1/8.....

Re: Mr. Jeff and his pink Challenger
Hey Kevin, congratulations on your fourth Stock championship. I think it's really cool that Jeff built this car and painted it to increase awareness of breast cancer and in tribute to his wife. My question still stands though. How do you get 105 hp off a combination without ever going down the track? Look at the specs on that 392 Hemi motor. That thing is really good. It made 485 hp through the mufflers and cats with all the accessories hooked up, SAE net hp. This kind of deal is what made most of us angry about the new factory race cars in our class.
Look at the competition in B/SA. Allen's car is probably the fastest right now, but it's rated 40 hp less than the Camaros and Firebirds. Jim Boudreaux's car is the fastest of the old cars, 396-375 rated at 405. Maybe 485 is too much for the 392, but my guess is 380 is really soft. The other combination for that car is the 5.7 Hemi, factory rated at 375, defactored to 300. That combination should be better than the LS 1's which is 382 in the Camaro and Firebirds. I don't understand how these kinds of things get done. One more thing is that the hood on the pink car only came on a 2010 SRT Challenger which came with a 5.7 motor only. You guys with the 69 Camaros that had the cowl hoods might want to point this out. |

Re: Mr. Jeff and his pink Challenger
Thanks for the Congrats Greg. It is a good combo since we have been beating on it. We didnt know this in advance. All we knew was that it looked good on paper. The problem is, where do we start new combos and who comes up with the magic numbers. . If you put this in the guide at 485hp then nobody builds one.The 392 will be getting a hp hit at year end. Everyone Have a great off season.

Re: Mr. Jeff and his pink Challenger
Thanks Barry. No disrespect taken here. Greg, on the hood deal, I will see if Jeff can get the package # for you. I know you can order them with a new car, but yes , it did become availible in 2010. They also have a cool looking Shaker hood package. We are running the pink car as a 2013 model

Re: Mr. Jeff and his pink Challenger
Now you know why I brought the dealer build manual for Challengers to Indy. I can give you the code for that hood if you like. It was ok with NHRA. Fact is very few sold. Mostly the shaker hood. My next showroom car (blue) will have a flat hood. Feel better now. Neither of the hoods (t/a or shaker) work worth a crap, maybe hurt. I really thought I finished with that damn hood in Indy.
