Live From Fontana LODRS and Sportsnationals
Well almost live. Not at track yet but will be there in the morning. Pitting starts tomorrow at 3pm according to the flyer. Sitting at Peggy Sues Diner in Yarmo CA. About 80 miles from track. Plan on having a good dinner tonite and relax. I'll try my best to post pictures from the races these next two weekends and if DRC isn't doing the qualifying as it happens I will post results. More tomorrow.

Re: Live From Fontana LODRS and Sportsnationals
So was Peggy Sue's everything you thought it would be? We ate there once a few years ago just to say we had.
Any one know what Friday spectator ticket costs? |
Re: Live From Fontana LODRS and Sportsnationals
Just finished. Food and service was great. I think it's $20 spectator fee.

Re: Live From Fontana LODRS and Sportsnationals
Bob would you ask if the front gate will be open all night Thursday? Thanks a bunch!
|
Re: Live From Fontana LODRS and Sportsnationals
Woohoo. Made it to the track. 4th in line. About 8 rigs here so far. According to the track they're opening the gate by the railway tracks at 2 and pitting starts at 3. Long day of waiting. But that's OK. I'll try my best to find out about the gate Daran. You're best bet might be to phone the track 909-429-5060.

Re: Live From Fontana LODRS and Sportsnationals
Good luck to you and Charlene for these 2 races. I am not sure who else will be there from the Northwest, but should be several. Hope the weather is great and the track is fast for all those who attend. I plan to be at Pacific on the 30th for the combo race. I don't have a car, but help anyway I can and totally enjoy each event. Like I said, good luck and hope to see you guys at the Divisional at Pacific later this year.

Re: Live From Fontana LODRS and Sportsnationals
We're in and pitted. Pits are fairly sparse so good spots are available. We're pitted by Chuck and Linda Stubeck. As per usual its a little windy tonite but that's OK. No racing until tomorrow as they run the test and tune. I'll take some pictures tomorrow and post them. Time for a wobbly pop and to cook dinner.

Re: Live From Fontana LODRS and Sportsnationals
Test and tune here in Fontana. Should be starting shortly. Just checked the weather station. 63.5T 51%H 28.70BP 2002DA. Winds calm as of now. Doing normal maintenance to cars and then into the trailers. I'll try to get some pictures today and post them.

Re: Live From Fontana LODRS and Sportsnationals
Not much happening. A few cars testing but not many. Managed to take a few pictures.

Re: Live From Fontana LODRS and Sportsnationals
Bob, are more guys from up here going to arrive tomorrow or are you and Charlene flying the Div. 6 colors alone this weekend??
I noticed the number 1 qualifier in S/S is 1.3 under. Is that a misprint or does he get punished on Tuesday?? |
Re: Live From Fontana LODRS and Sportsnationals
Its a miss print. Doug Gibson is driving and its a SS/LA

It's raining in Cucamonga.

Re: Live From Fontana LODRS and Sportsnationals
They started drying the track about 6:30 this morning. About 15 minutes later the track drying stopped, I went outside and its raining. I guess we get to have an extra cup of coffee or two this morning.
|
Re: Live From Fontana LODRS and Sportsnationals
It's drying up over here but the sky is still pretty dark. I'm about 5 miles away as the crow flies.
|
Re: Live From Fontana LODRS and Sportsnationals
The misting has stopped here and track drying is underway.

What class does it run? Is it in the same class as Larry Hill's truck? JimR |
Re: Live From Fontana LODRS and Sportsnationals
If Larry could find a way to run it I'm sure he would!

Re: Live From Fontana LODRS and Sportsnationals
It's sprinkling again over here so if you don't have it yet you will soon.

Re: Live From Fontana LODRS and Sportsnationals
This was a 1st!
Got there past all the Bimmerfest crowd at 7:30 am. Paid $20 at the credential office, don't know why cause I could have gotten in for free. Zero security.... Walked the track and took photos of the staging beam angles and finish line beam angles. Left finsh line angle cuts outside inwards... Right lane seems straight.... Afterwards went to the credential office and they gave me my money back.... Sweet! $20 back in my pocket! See ya.... Sunday. |

I'm done for the day. Everything that could go wrong did. Late, spun bad and missed the dial in. Testing next Thursday before sportsnationals. Charlene did her job and is going to round two. The results can be found on http://www.nhra.com/livetimingdiv/re...id=68997&div=7
