"Live" from Indy 2015 Div. 3 #1 LODRS
 

We are here # 5 in line! Some say we are going to start parking at noon today and others not til 9 in the morning! We came up yesterday because we had an appointment at Cummins Crosspoint to get our motorhome generator looked at at 7:30 this morning. And then of course it would not do what it had been doing. Just ran perfectly! Just like when I tell something is wrong with my car and it runs fine for him!


The weather looks great for the rest of the week. A little cool, but sunny until maybe late Sunday!


I will let you know when we get in and parked!

I'm going to test at Gateway tonight. If all goes well and my problems are solved. I will head that way tomorrow.


Everybody goes in the main gate tomorrow even though we park on the west side. Correct?

So, Larry, are you guys pulled all the way up to the ticket booth, or are they keeping you back some, the trailers are out to crawfordville road, no place for any at the main gate entrance

Maverick, rigs were pulled all the way up to the ticket booth in 2 lines. They started parking early since they were all the way out to the road. We are parked right where you in to sit in the grandstands against the guard rail.


It sprinkled a few drops and was cold as we were parking, but now the sun is shining. The weather is looking even better now. Just a chance for a little rain today, then none the rest of the weekend. 70s during the day and 40s at night!


We should be really easy to find if you come up to the stands to watch. So stop by and say Hi!!

Preference is white zinfandel or Riesling!! But I'm not fussy! I'm like Mikey I will drink (or eat ) anything!!


Just went out riding and the facility looks great! The grass has been mowed. It is a little high, but looks great. You can tell it has rained a bunch lately, but you are able to park on the grass with no problems. I just wouldn't pull up and back a lot. Randy Simpson is now the Manager here at Lucas Oil Raceway and he seems to be doing a great job! We had a nice handout when we came in with the schedule for the weekend and other info for the track!


Tech is open and test and tune about to begin!


Come on up ( or down ) as the case may be!! Looks to be a fun weekend!!

Cool and windy today, but we have a picture perfect weekend on tap. Got parked, teched, and fresh fuel. Travis was once again classifying all S/SS cars to verify HP, weight, etc. This is a lot of work with so many cars, but it's really good to see. They did it numerous times last year as well.

Shoutout to the Brown Oil Service folks, a local Sunoco dealer. They are set up in the east side staging lanes, so don't look for the fuel truck down by the tire guys. They actually have their fuel priced fairly, which is virtually unheard of for on-site fuel sales at specialty events. They are very much appreciated! I'll probably fill up my spare jug before the weekend's out!

Installed decals on Marco Abruzzi's new Procharger equipped Top Dragster. Tomorrow, have a batch of Redman decals as well as oversized M/T decals to deliver, and a lot of work to do on the Volare as well. Sadly, after an incredible 12+ year run, the Duck Tape brand duct tape marketing partnership has come to a close. They are a phenomenal company, and everyone should stick with Duck products whenever possible! A new look is on the way.

It is a bright sunny day here in Indy this morning, but cold. It is 45 with the wind blowing. The place has filled up overnight, at least up here in the front where we are parked. I will go out after we run and check out the rest of the place.


Cudos to the person who picked out the radio station that is airing when announcements are not being made. We are listening to Bob and Tom this morning over the PA!

It was rather Chilly here in Indy yesterday for the test and tune.There was pretty much a constant head wind of 13 mph during the T nT. This morning we awoke to the sun glistening off the discarded beer cans in our pit area as we celebrated the end of Old Man Winter in Division Three. On my weather station a temp of 49 degrees, 70 percent humid, and 29.15 BP greeted us as we made our first Q run of the season. In memory of Leo Taugher ,our beloved voice of Div 3 for numerous years ,Drag race central will be posting live coverage. Thank You DRC. M.J.

106 stockers made the first run! Lots of indexes were wrong, so it may be a while before DRC gets the times up. Lots of 1000' runs. Problems with Beach, and Drew Skillman. Zack Running just blew up his Super Street engine. More later.

117 stockers made the second run, plus a couple from this morning did not go down. This could turn out to be a qualified field!!


Most everyone slowed a little this run. It is up to 70 degrees now. Just a beautiful day! We are done for the day, but they are showing a clean up late. We are running a little behind so I don't know if the cleanup will still happen or not,

We just attended the tribute for Leo. It was moderated by Bob Frey and lots of folks got up and told stories about their experiences with Leo. It was a very nice and lighthearted, but moving celebration of Leo's life.


Sorry but I did not have my camera with me. There were quite a few photos being taken so hopefully someone will post some.


We start out at 8 in the morning. Super stock gets 2 runs tomorrow since one of theirs was cancelled today. I don't know if they will still run first round tomorrow or not. I have not seen a revised schedule yet.

Stock is out first @ 8:00 am. The track was scraped after a long day for the starting line crew. It could be fast for Indy.

A couple oil downs slowed things down some. The .90 classes did get 2 hits yesterday but SG and SC were pushed back after the alcohol cars. The Leo tribute was scheduled for 7 pm and they wanted to pretty close to that schedule but it was still about 8 before it started. Overall I think the track did a great job!

Good morning!!! It is overcast this morning and 48 right now. We should be in the 50s when we run in a half hour or so. It is suppose to get to 72 today which it will be when we run 1st round around 2 or so.


I will try to get some pictures later today.


Thank you to Rob Petrie and Kyle Riley for the wine they brought over. You will have to come by and have some tonight after we finish racing!


They should be calling us up soon. Should be a little faster this morning.
