LIVE! From the PRI Show
Just walked in after the ride from Mo-Town. Lots of work left to do but plenty of time till the show opens on Thursday morning. Looks like the weather will cooperate - should be a good show. Will be great to see everybody. D1 Dave Ley will be here!
Now if there was a way to get all the Motorhomes parked inside close by this could almost as good as being at points meet or National event. http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2...psnjlban6e.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2...psjhqnmfij.jpg http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2...psne4vytxc.jpg |

Re: LIVE! From the PRI Show
Things are taking shape - lots more people and activity here today.
http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2...psdt00liya.jpg And now for some Stocker trivia. Name this former Stock Eliminator national event winner that is still active with one of the premier aftermarket companies. Bonus points for both his name AND employer(s). http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e2...psu6olcw6y.jpg |

Was he the" Hurst Shifty Doctor"?
|
Re: LIVE! From the PRI Show
Yes he was
|
Re: LIVE! From the PRI Show
No he was not. Jack Watson was the Orginal Shifty Dr Jack started in late 1963 Howard did not work at Hurst till after he got out of the Army. Howard left for the Army in late 63 or early 64. I was working with Hurst at the time in the Detroit area it was Hurst Performance Research @ 1191 East 11 Mile Rd in Madison Hgts Mi

WOW...Larry Hill! I remember the days watching him race in the SS/S combo class at Music City Raceway in Union Hill, Tennessee!
here is a shot of the Chevy Copo Intake Manifold for the FS/B Stock Eliminator engine combo. This was designed ant built by CFE. Cool Piece. |

Re: LIVE! From the PRI Show
Great place to see friends and check out upgrades. Good to see younger people still there checking technology. Wonder if a profile of Round Track, Drag Race or other groups attendance was available.

Re: LIVE! From the PRI Show
I was there, got around a lot on Thursday, (over did it) and got around some on Friday, but was struggling. If I missed you I didn't mean to, did see a lot of people.
Now time to play grandpa for a bit . I wish I could of got around as good as my father did at the show! (that's us in the picture) https://scontent-a-ord.xx.fbcdn.net/...88&oe=551498FF |
Re: LIVE! From the PRI Show
The PRI show is like going to the candy store with all the candy outside of the glass case. And yes some of the show is "eye candy". The cool thing is the completion is at the same vender booth, or seminar that I was attending. So this makes me think I'm looking in the correct places for product info and knowledge, now I just need someone to understand it for me!
I enjoy looking at other types of cars to see what might apply to my old mule to put a little more ''get'' in the giddy-up. If you are a gearhead it needs to be on your list. The most frightening stuff is the computer, GPS, run tracing, infrared, and the information in real time feedback. |
Re: LIVE! From the PRI Show
Larry, I hate to see how many Super class cars have this, its just got to be total bull that you have to win using this stuff
|
Re: LIVE! From the PRI Show
Hill, just cause that stuff is Grade 8 and you are Grade 1 in comprehension, don't worry. Most of the smart people are in Super Classes or got New Cars which are no longer in your class. So rest easy big guy!!!
|
Re: LIVE! From the PRI Show
This stuff has already penetrated far past the Super classes or just new car folks. I pitted with one of the young bright Super Class guys once and got enough insight to know it's not rocket science, just modern technology applied and anybody who can learn basic computing can do it. If it's not policed it will drive out the "traditional" racers. The other threads on this subject can give you only some of the insight into what is going on....makes the matty box stone age.
|
Re: LIVE! From the PRI Show
Well please tell all. The more people know the more it can be policed. I just recently comprehended what the Matty box was. I heard about it back then but didn't really care to know what it was. If they've got something out that is the same or worse then expose it. Hiding it will only let them get by with it longer.
