BIR Midwest Class Racer Final Event Photos
 

Well, the final event of the season at Brainerd is over and in the record books. 49 cars on Sat and 45 cars on Sunday! Beautiful weather and a racer's party on Saturday night hosted by the Zenzen family was a nice closing. Due to the fact of many track shut downs, the final four at dusk on Saturday split the pot of approx. $4000.00.
Congratulations to the final four: Tom Barrett, Glen Demenge, Jim Langer, and James Findell!

Hurry up and wait! Gave plenty of time for strategy planning. John Overby and his Challenger ready to get going! The Lisell family going head to head! Congratulations to Skip Lisell being #1 qualifier with his U/SA 77 Cadillac Seville (going down the track in style). Dave Magee came all the way from Watertown, SD with his beautiful wagon!

Thanks to everyone who attended.
We has a bit of a mess with the late start on Sat.
The track had some insurmountable issues with oil downs and breakage of cars. (8-9 cars that is..).
However!
We had one heck of a cheese burger party hosted by Ron & Brian Zenzen. Sat. night.
I would like to thank them again for the wonderful comradery and delicious food food!

Thanks to MWCR for all the help raising the payout to a level that will rival ANY divisional meet.
With 2 chances to win $2000.00! in 1 week end.
I just don't see how you can beat a deal like that!

Glen DeMenge gets the persistence award of the weekend! Who else would have a tire blow off his car and have a broken wheel, but go home, get new wheels off another car and come back to the track in time for first round.......and be in the final four Saturday and split the pot!!! Well done!

In doing the math MCR total payouts for 2014 will be in excess of $100'000 ( including Kearny Nat Open ). Thanks for the acknowledgement of my trouble. I was very, very, grateful to make as many rounds as I did. It was just luck that I didn't crash or wreck someone's car or another person. Thank God I was where I was when the wheel decided split in half and to blast off the front of my car.
Thanks to Tracy &Cindy Fairchild for the use of their car and Ben & Lance Line and all the people who helped me with getting my car back to the pits and able to make first round. It was un-real how it all worked out. Thanks again!!
