Has anyone obtained bank financing for a CJ, COPO or Drag Pa

Does anyone have any direct experience obtaining a bank loan to finance the purchase of one the modern muscle cars with no VIN number, and no second mortgage on real estate?

What bank, in what state, what percentage of purchase price?

PM me here, or Tony@BrentwoodManagementCorp.com

If you have to borrow the money to buy one of these cars to race, you can't afford to have one of them.

Get a cheap bracket car, go hone your skills and have fun.

How much do you get for a kidney these days? I need to make my car lighter.

Probably a million bucks if you needed to buy one and have it installed.

Don't know Carey, but if you go to one of the big small tire races I'm sure someone can give you a quote. Pretty obvious some of those guys are pretty "enterprising". Heck, we're obviously all crazy to love racing so much, surely an addiction only cured by death.

HA! reminded me of something a friend did back in the day! So before the interwebs, there was this thing called the "bargain finder" , basically a published classifieds for anything and everything, now known as craigslist or kijiji. Anyways my bud was a little short on cash so he posts and ad to offer up one of his organs to the highest bidder. ---" man I got 2 of em ,I only need one!"

All you gotta have is good credit, good income and a good financial statement. Shouldn't be any different than buying a 100k boat.

Sounds like a money making opportunity to me. Now I can finance that comp car...

... maybe I'm not the person to be running that rehab.

My cousin Paulie will do it much cheaper than that.

It can be done. The number makes it identifiable and a UCC 1 filing and descriptions and any other documents. I helped a racer in another state do it. I financed my first race car. A 66 Coronet 426 that I bought for $1200 I didn't have. Brought the car to the bank, left the title, and paid long easy payments. Simple

Wow,,,,, someone who is qualified to speak about the financial status of another racer,,, or another person, in general. That's something I could never do,,,, figure its none of my business what another person purchases,,, but that's just me.

If anyone thinks all those Toterhomes and Stackers where paid with cash is kidding themselves.
Why would financing DP, CJ or COPO be any different?

Mack, you guys are right...I'm deleting my earlier post because it didn't assist Tony in what he was looking for. Part of my bias is based on my years doing some road racing events where the adage "don't race what you can't walk away from" is generally more accepted, especially given the higher probability of sustaining damage at the track.

Apologize Tony, hope somebody has put you onto an attractive financing option that fits your racing goals.

This would fall under the heading of a personal unsecured loan unless you pledge real estate or some other asset. You better have a credit score in the high 700 or 800 range. You will probably not like the interest rate. Prior to the 2008 credit crisis anyone could finance a dream.

Re: Has anyone obtained bank financing for a CJ, COPO or Dra

We have financed race cars since the late 60's. Just need the right conditions and persons. Not complicated.

2.4 % on a Personal Credit Line Loan

Insurance. You're not racing the other vehicles. I would hate to see the terms and conditions on financing a $114,500.00 race car.

Oh man, I can see the conversation now. "Honey would you mind signing on this line of credit I need"? WHAM! That would be the last thing out of my mouth before I woke up in the hospital. LOL

The last time I walked around the sportsman pits, I was humbled, and the thread regarding open trailers and 1/2 ton pick ups makes great sense to me.

If I would ever to race again it would be a one day event, not a three day divisional, and never a NHRA national, other than Indy.

The part about no vin # the car must come with some paper work ? The interrest rates and the insurance payments intil its payed off , are greater than biulting a clone Tony . Its just a time vs money thing . See you at the track .

Anyone that willing pays that much for a stocker should have Togo through a mental health evaluation before a loan is approved.

Give Dave or JC a call at ATI. We have a customer who has a black on black, 2012, 327 / 4.0L blower car. 6 bolt heads, Holley installed, nothing else done or touched from the factory. Never been down the track, only on a chassis dyno for Holley tuning.....and its less than that new 2014 stocker price....
