How do you save time by running an 1/8.....? At MIR you still have to drive to the end to go up the return road, therefore you are going slower ! Just my guess, but I think it should have been postponed.

they are predicting alot of wind.

Dave Ribeiro 04-12-2007 07:14 PM

Wes, Robert,

Does anyone know if the Test n Tune will be 1/8 or 1/4 mile..
What are they waiting for, shows rain by 11 am...Also are they still going to try and run all the other stuff they had planned ??? They will be lucky if they get one race in !!!!! I don't know what weather map they are looking at...........Lets hope they get smart...

Will the ladder be the same for both races , if they dont have a second time run ?

herbjr 04-13-2007 11:22 AM

Generally they will do random pairings for second race if there is no time run.

Herb Jr

Bryan Worner 04-13-2007 12:25 PM

Last year we ran both races on Sunday and they did random pairing for the 2nd race. The only problem I have with that is guys ducking and dodging in the staging lanes.

donald raiser 04-13-2007 03:52 PM

i tried my best to get away from you and anthony!

I hope it doesn't turn out like the Motorplex today - weather forecasts for today were awful - you name it, there was an eighty percent chance it was going to happen. Well, it didn't happen and they have been running on schedule all day. Weather radar indicates they might get some action tonight, but all the heavy stuff went by just west of Waxahatchie earlier today. If they had shut down because of the forecasts for today, they'd be really jammed up tomorrow.

Donny, you weren't the culprit I was referring to! Anyway, sorry I won't get to see your skinny butt this weekend!

donald raiser 04-14-2007 07:58 AM

thanks, i think?

12 SUPER STOCKERS
17 STOCKERS
I guess it wont take long to run 2 races.

herbjr 04-14-2007 01:27 PM

Rain Delay after 2 rounds.

sammy christian 04-14-2007 03:23 PM

maybe royce will lose enough on this one to consider a different date. whether anyone realizes it or not, this race just isn't a priority for MIR or IHRA. the racer usually is the only loser, but now the promoter will feel the pain.

stk1695ihra 04-14-2007 05:17 PM

The event has been cancelled and rescheduled for May 12th. [:-confused2-:]

They said racers will get 2 quarter mile passes and the completion of todays races will be run as an 1/8 mile race and race 2 will be 1/4 mile.

Smooth move !!! A lot of thought went into that decision by rescheduling the race on top of the NHRA Open at Mason - Dixon the same day in the same state !!!

Bart Kilraine 04-14-2007 09:30 PM

yes sir,Hagerstown 135 miles,......Budds Creek 265 miles,...My choice is probably made. Rain date Mothers Day?

Bart

sammy christian 04-15-2007 11:19 AM

once again those people that have to make rational choices get screwed. the race should never have been started in the fashion that it was. now those that chose not to waste a 500 mi (one way) trip to sit in the rain, lose the chance for two races because the first was started just to try and salvage the bottom line for the promoter. screw them if they think i'm going to the make up date to watch the first race finish and then run one that would not pay crap even if you do win.

STREET ROD 04-15-2007 03:27 PM

It just goes to show you how F@@KED up Royce and IHRA are by rescheduling it on top of an open so close. NHRA is just as bad if not worse by requiring everyone to earn "GRADE POINTS" to enter thier lousy National Events.

cambria 04-15-2007 05:08 PM

We watched the weather and choose not to go and I wanted to since I won stock last year. But it makes no sense to try to squeeze it in now I have no reason to go to the rescheduled one just to watch the first race.I have switched to division 3 ,races start later and are closer.I think they would have a better turn out if guys could race two races at the make up. Too bad I like the track and Royce and his crew.

Paul Cambria

Rich67stang 04-15-2007 06:43 PM

There are 14 IHRA tracks that are located within Div. 1 . Why are there
only three tracks signed up for divisionals? I switched to Div. 3 also,
only because I did not go to MIR and you need 4 in Div. races. Last year
I went to NY international for a div. and had a great time...what happened
to that track? I like racing IHRA, but they need to think about their div.
races/points.

cambria 04-16-2007 01:31 PM

I suppose it is easy for us to second guess the people who have to make the calls.Only so many race days at so many tracks and it is probably hard to find a make up date that does not conflict with something.IHRA is still the best place to race Sportsman class. Can't wait to get started going to miss Rocknigham too got to work.

tpoh815 04-16-2007 04:49 PM
