Re: what happened to Jeff Lee
Recall him getting some grief on the forum from some 'members' for his DQ at Vegas (like who hasn't made a mistake in the rush to get a new combo to the track?) but he posted some after that so just figured he's super busy with the Phoenix real estate market. You can send him a regular e:mail using his forum contact info...

I know he's busy with remodeling houses to flip and still finding time to work on that AMX. He was in the D7 race in October in Vegas and was #3 qualifier with over 100 entries first time out with all new combo but then DQ'd and then again at D7 this year raced in Chandler. He raced SS that time with his stock parts and found out it was not so fast in SS but he has his old SS parts getting freshened up so he will be fast in SS just takes time with his business and big family. I know he is racing or testing this Saturday at Firebird. Call him up he will help your relative. 602-418-9797 |

Re: what happened to Jeff Lee
Maybe NHRA should remove other erroneous parts too Ed

Re: what happened to Jeff Lee
Ed, what parts do you think should not be allowed? Pretty sure all of them were replacement parts from the AMC factory. We have the original books from AMC to prove it....maybe do your research before you start knocking people down for trying to get it approved. I believe it was someone out your way that cried to NHRA about everything to get it revoked. Guess some people actually race and some people complain about everyone else who races but we all know is which side!

Re: what happened to Jeff Lee
I may be wrong, my memory isn't what it used to be but as I remember, he had a or some SS only parts on the car but running the car as a Stocker. Remember it was a Stocker then a SS'er then a Stocker again .As I said, my memory isn't what it used to be so.......
Whatever it was I'm sure it was an honest mistake. As far as being banned. It's a big club! If you haven't been banned at least once, you're not posting enough!! Jim:D . |

Jeff's engine was legal for Stock Eliminator. The only reason NHRA questioned him was regarding the leaf spring shackles that in my opinion and the same of others, were and are legal. |

Re: what happened to Jeff Lee
well, guys, NHRA approved the carb, intake and cam....we go buy 'em and then NHRA or somebody bitches about it and then they get un-approved.
I'm happy as **** because I cannot find the correct carb for my 290,cool, I can quit looking, right? nope, roughly 1500 bucks down the drain for me. MY issue with Jeff is he said I was the one that "threw him under the bus" (his words) news flash, I'm in the same boat, why the hell would I do that? I could live with the cam and intake getting pulled but why were they approved in the 1st place? oh well, i'll just run in the local stick class for now |

What is so different with AMC's that can't have parts that were approved under the same guidelines as other makes? Not to rehash the same B.S. again; nevertheless, I have seen the documentation sent by Chrysler to NHRA making the parts legal for use. It is the same process used by other OEM's to have parts approved such as the 2 x 4 barrel Shelby's, the higher lift cams, Chevy 283 with a 327 intake, etc... Again, please edify me why AMC's are different and why the same rules don't apply? |

Re: what happened to Jeff Lee
Eric, show me where the factory installed the 950 CFM "approved" carb. Would you like to debate the TRW piston?
Pat is correct about chasing other bogus parts, but there's too many out there benefitting from them. Oh and NHRA doesn't have the cujones to pick on a combo that has a lot of users. Jim, you're 100% right. Jim did you know that you could have had a 500 cfm Holley factory installed on the 258" six? High altitude option. :>) We both missed the boat on that one. |

The issue of "making noise" is the fact that NHRA has always been selective of whom they allow to get away with changes to the specs. |

Gentlemen--- please take a time out !!! I merely asked where Jeff was and if he was still involved in real estate as I had a relative possibly interested in renting something in Phoenix for the winter--- I really do not care about his or your beefs with his equipment or the NHRA system!!! Let it rest please. Have a nice day Regards FED387
