Re: Fastest 60ft on 9" tire
I went 1.21 yesterday testing, and I figured there were some out there going 1.19 or maybe a little better on 9" tire, but I don't recall seeing any.

Re: Fastest 60ft on 9" tire
Too bad you restricted it to stk/ss-I think Jason Coan has had a 1.06 in his FED. I know he's been 1.08 in the G/EA Bantum.

Mr. David,
Comp is welcome as well. I didn't think about comp because not many run 9". I know Frank Aragona runs that on his cars. |
Re: Fastest 60ft on 9" tire
Wouldn't the (new) Cobra Jet Mustangs have killer 60' times ?

I've had the drag pak in the low 1.20's, that was with the power glide.

Nice Cooter!
I remember you told me you wanted to put more low gear in the trans... did that do it, or a whole new package? Or is it that voodoo cajun magic! LOL Keep up the hard work! Ken |
Re: Fastest 60ft on 9" tire
If..... the old cars had 4 link/torsion bar/coil over and total adjustability we too could have much faster 60 foot times on a 9 inch tire.

Re: Fastest 60ft on 9" tire
What would be the brand and part# of the tire of choice here?
|
Re: Fastest 60ft on 9" tire
1.21 seems like it would be an awesome 60 for that firebird. You have a trans brake in it, right Cooter? SS/HA weight? How certain are you that you didn't catch the 60 ft beams with your nose?
|
Re: Fastest 60ft on 9" tire
With a F body lots of times it will trip the 60' with the nose out of the wheel stand. I have had to use the 330' to get the most accurate times.

Re: Fastest 60ft on 9" tire
Was it the GTO or Firebird?
Either way, heck of a 60'... Ken |
Re: Fastest 60ft on 9" tire
We've gone 1.28 with the Corvette at A weight plus 20 lbs. 3710 lbs.
|
Re: Fastest 60ft on 9" tire
I have been 1.24 at A weight in my (Ex)stocker and 1.28 in B many times
|
Re: Fastest 60ft on 9" tire
This was in the firebird footbrake. I went 1.34 on the rear wheels and it's usually .13-.14 slower with rear wheels.
