Prayers for Kip Martin
 

Kip Martin suffered a serious stroke yesterday at 4pm and his daughter sent me a message saying he is not doing very well. He is on heavy sedation, the doctor says he can't have surgery and the clot in his brain is getting worse.

Oh sorry to hear this. I just saw him a couple weeks ago at the machine stop, lookin' good.
Unfortunately, my dad went this way..Maybe the medicines and procedures are much better now.

An update for all:
Kip is in ICU at North Phoenix Hospital,( Div of John C Lincoln).At this time it is family only ( all 3 daughters are here). I spoke with them this morning, no major changes at this time.The stroke was massive and at this time more tests are being done. I will be back up there in a couple of hours and will keep all you guys updated.

My first final round ever was against Kip in his SS/O Galaxie, at a bracket race in Wichita. Of course I redlit, as I was as nervous as could be, racing one of my class racer heroes! He's never forgotten that race, either. Big time prayers for Kip and his family...

Kip was taken off life support this afternoon.At 1:40 today Kip passed away surrounded by his 3 wonderful daughters.Kip's passing was peaceful, surrounded by love.
Today the drag racing community lost a legend.The Ford fans lost one of their best racers, And with that said, 3 daughters, 2 stepsons and grandchildren lost a great man.
Kip was always the first one to help someone out.In his honor, take the time to help someone, you may be suprised at the outcome

Never met Kip, but he did spend lots of time on the phone with me when I was considering a SBF SS/GT build. Truly a nice gentleman

For Sure we have lost a legendary Ford racer today...but Kip was for more than that...a very special friend... brilliant...generous,giving to a fault...some days...far too often @ 65 and counting...hurt...a lot...God Speed...
