2014 updates

As I'm going through the 2014 checklist, I've had two excellent experiences with parts companies.
First, I purchased my collector tethers from Keith Fulp Motorsports, as he got good reviews from many on this site. He is a great guy to talk to , his service was prompt and the parts were exactly as advertised. Total install time less than 20 minutes. Total price was $90 including shipping.
Second, I sent my Long shifter back for an upgrade (rebuild and changed first gear trigger mechanism to new style).. Again, the phone interaction was first rate, the service was timely AND he did a few additional upgrades that we did not discuss for NO ADDITIONAL CHARGE!! They received the shifter from me on Jan 2nd. and had it coming back my way the next day. Chris was very helpful on the phone in explaining what was done, proper adjustment procedures etc. We also had a few minute random racing discussion.
Hope the rest of the year proceeds in the same manner!!!
Happy New Year to all!!

John

I have used Stroud for most all of my safety equipment for years and have had great service.

Well I was going to install a new roll cage, afco's on all four corners, aftermarket front brakes, and rebuild the front end. But when the car was at the chassis shop. I got a call from the chassis guy who said , my car had burnt to the ground. So now I am looking for a car.

There is no insurance, but there will be on the new car. The problem is the car was a no vin # 85 Olds Cutlass. The chassis guy don't thank there's no value, difference between it and a reg Cutlass.

Are you stating that, as a result of something which your chassis guy did, your car was destroyed?
If so, I would be contacting my lawyer.

He can't be that stupid. The car had a motor/transmission and all the normal race type components, right?

Hey Alan, genuinely sorry to hear of your loss. Had the exact same situation happen to me some years ago, with the former Thurston/Stinnett Firebird. A body shop in Michigan was doing some very minor things on the car and called on a Friday afternoon to say it was ready to be picked up. I couldn't get over there before he closed and told them I'd come over Saturday morning. Friday night the building burned to the ground. No insurance on the car, not enough insurance on the part of the body shop owner to cover all of the vehicles he had in his possession. Call me, if you need any coaching on how to proceed. I got as much as anybody could, under the circumstances. (734) 664-1164.

Alan;
Sorry for your loss, I had a similar thing happen in my own shop, 64 Dodge 330 just finished and was a total fire loss 5 years ago. Allstate would not help due to a agents mistake. Still difficult to think about..
