Thanks for putting this together Dan. We head to the dyno on Labor Day for a tune after we finally got the wheel fitting issue dealt with. We'll hit the track for a TNT as soon as the weather cooperates after that. Still 100+ degrees daily with DAs well over 3000'. I'll get you an action shot within the next few weeks hopefully. Oh yeah ... Wendy is going to drive the car. We got a nice helmet for her recently. At 140+ lighter than I am we'll gladly take that extra tenth and a half as we shoot for a second under. :D

When she goes almost 2 tenths quicker than I can I guess we can call her anything that we like ... provided that it's nice! :D Wonderful woman ... loves cars even more than I do. When I don't go out in the garage to get things worked on and ready I get in trouble. Celebrating our one-month anniversary tomorrow.

Permission granted......keep up the great work! Our Camaro is still a couple of months away from completion, but we'll have the '70 chevelle at Darlington this weekend.

Just added Tom Gould's 1965 W/S Corvair.

This wonder car still is set up for Pure Stock with a Lunati Blueprint cam from the 70's.

There are three pictures he sent me and posted them on PhotoGallery.

This historical car has won countless races.
It can even pull the front wheels off the ground..

Thanks Tom.. perfect for the Calendar.

Hope to see you again!

We're headed to Dallas Raceway Dan October 19th-20th for their 1st annual Southwest Domestic vs. Import shootout. I think there is a heads-up NA class we can be competitive in. If not, they have an 11.50 index class. Either way, the DA that time of year in Dallas is typically around 500' so we'll take some good launch pictures for you and see if we can't run 1 under.

COOL...Vette's tend to hook well. Be sure to SMILE when you lift the Tires off the ground..:)

BTW how far away is Dallas from your home?

Thinking about taking the Auto Train to Florida to race at the Lakeland Open Meet.

Dallas Raceway is in Crandall and that's our "home" track. About 75 miles pretty much all 4-lane divided highway and 70mph. Not a bad tow at all.

What in the world is an auto train?

Re: Pure Stock Calendar Permissions

train your auto

Dan Fahey 09-20-2013 11:20 PM

Re: Pure Stock Calendar Permissions

Amtrak has and Auto Train where you buy a small bunk/room for two and they carry your car.

Right now the only one goes to Sanford Florida for Disney World.
You have your own car in Florida.

Making it less expensive to fly and rent.
Takes 18 hours by train but most if the trip is sleeping.
Meeting people and a nice dining experience.

Only drawback for me. Wish I was in the Navy.
The rail cars will rock back and forth playing with your brain.

When we were there we took the SSuperwagon.
Visited both Atlantic and Gulf Florida beaches.

Took Maria, Maria's mom, daughter Christina to Disney World.
Did a lot in a week.

And experienced I-4 traffic.

FWIW..can round trip to Florida and Back with the car for $1100
Have a place to stay or can get a hotel and hit all the IHRA point meet in Florida.
And visit my clients

Re: Pure Stock Calendar Permissions

Hey Dan ... got to slip out to the track tonight. Friday it rained 10" (yes, you read that correctly) ending our string of Lord knows how many 90+ days in a row. Today was supposed to be in the low 80's, breezy and low humidity. Wendy and I loaded up the RV (first time towing with it), the Corvette and headed 1.5 hours NE to Crandall to TNT.

DA was around 1800' all evening (I'll look up the exact numbers later) ... not bad conditions but not perfect either. We'll take it for September in Texas.

Best run was 11.74 @ 113 with a 1.53 60'. Car was very consistent. Ran an 11.74, 11.75 and 11.77 and we were playing with tire pressures and not cooling the car at all (only icing the intake). 1/8 time was 7.40. The scales were closed but based on my calculations we were about 150 lbs. over. On a 12.45/8.10 index we were 7 tenths under. If you put any stock in drag race times density altitude web site and conversion at sea level it said it would be an 11.49.

Best part of the evening was Wendy getting seat time. She's only been to the track as a spectactor a handful of times in her life (all with me) and has NEVER been down the track. Eventually, as she feels more comfortable, I'd like her to do all the driving (she is 140 lbs. lighter than me!!!) She did AWESOME for her first time. First pass was 14.50, second was 13.05 and then 11.98 and 11.91. Her last 2 60' times were 1.75 so she's still figuring out how to leave and left off the brake at the same time. I was very proud of her! :)

It's 2am and we're home safely and unloaded. All and all a wonderful evening. In behind roads relaxed and watched UT win as we enjoyed a cool eveing finally! Excited to get out again soon ...

Hey Dan,
I will get some photos out to you this week of the 2014 mustang 3.7 v6 ( setting -up for E/PS ). I have been sending Mike Baker a E- Mail every other day about what is going on with the approval to run Pure Stock with the new Mustangs and he has not answer any of my current e-mails ! I am not going to stop going after this ! but I did drag my 1997 Camaro 3800 V6 ( stick car ) out of the back of the garage and will be freshening it up for the 2014 season as a back-up car. It will be a H or I Pure Stocker. Car has run a best of 13.70 @ 101 a couple a years ago in H/PS trim. I will also send you some photos of this car.
