I almost quit reading the ad. Called him "Stickler" 3 or 4 times before they got it right. How do you sell a half a million dollar Camaro perfectly restored in every way and NOT get the name right?

Ray Dennis Steckler (AKA Cash Flagg) was a film director/producer during the late 60's and early 70's, made (somewhat) famous by Mystery Science Theater 3000.

And if there is anyone who has a spare half-million to invest, there are better ways to make a profit! Just ask the person who bought the Ray Allen-Truppi/Kling Chevelle convertible.:eek:

When Strickler had it, it didn't have a Roll Bar . I don't think it is original and not worth that kind of money. Some of this cloning is getting out of hand. If it was work that why isn't it at Barrett-Jackson instead of ebay.

I have seen the car close up it's not a clone ran in Div 1 for a lot of years. The owner still races another Camaro now.

To see some interesting cars that will be coming up for auction the end of September go to vanderbrinkauctions.com.
One is a 1958 Chevrolet Cameo pick-up with 1 mile on it.
Another is a 1978 Corvette Silver anniversary edition with 4 miles on it.

Guys, I think you are looking at this in the wrong light ? The person that will buy this is a Jay Leno, Rick Hendrick, Reggie Jackson or a Big collector type guy !!! Not some guy who has to get a bank loan ??? This car is a piece of History and if you are really rich & can afford it who care's !!! Yes, it has always been a race car & was totally redone... Why give it away , if it's only going to increase in Value...The difference between the Rich & us is the price of their Toys .... This car is Awesome ... The big Guys like E-bay & Jackson take a lot of the profits ....

This car is indeed a important piece of drag racing history having won the 1968 NHRA Super Stock World Championship and except for some safety considerations has been faithfully restored to its '68 configuration. To the person with the right interest and budget of course it's "worth it". A Ferrari sold at auction for $27.5 Million this past weekend, was it worth it? Guess it was since that what someone paid.

It has been for sale at that price for a long time. I think it has been on and off of ebay for a few years without changing owners but I could be wrong. It may have also been to one of the large auctions without meeting reserve. Cool car but I think the names mentioned earlier in this thread with the deep, deep pockets are the target audience.

Heck, that ain't nothin' these people also have a '71 Hemi Cuda for two MILLION and if you click on sellers others items and you look on "page" 97 they sell a complete Aluminum front end for a '69 Camaro, Yes, I said aluminum hood, bumpers, trunk lid and fenders.....hummm, might have to start carrying a magnet with me...
