Re: RIP Mr Paul Candies
Paul was on his houseboat in grand isle La. from what i was told with friends and famly when he passed. the Candies famly was getting ready for the International Grand isle Tarpon Rodeo that is held next week.the Rodeo is the largest in the state of La. it is the US nationals of Rodeo's. and the Candies famly is a large part of the Rodeo Committee and Pauls dad the late Otto Candies Sr was one of the founders of the Rodeo.I was lucky enough to win it in 1996 with the largest Tarpon that year. and i have a pic in my office with Paul giving me the award.he will be sadly missed by myself and our racing family. RIP my friend.

Re: RIP Mr Paul Candies
I will trully miss Mr. Paul Candies. I go back to the old days, but more recently I witnessed his support of his family racing. A few years ago, he was at the table with me & my wife at my nephews pre-wedding dinner. I recognized him, and after introducing myself, I was amazed that he acually knew who I was. Over the past few years, he always said "Hi" and visited with me at the races. He would ask about my nephew and his family.
He is a true "Hall of Fame" racer. My condolences to the family. |
Re: RIP Mr Paul Candies
I am sure that PB will post his own.
From our entire family, thanks to all for the kind and thoughtful words. Our leader is gone, but never forgotten. In his own words..."just go kick ***." So we will be looking forward to seeing our racing brethren soon. Say a prayer for Ms Rita! Thanks! |
Re: RIP Mr Paul Candies
Thanks to all of you that are sending us messages of your thoughts, prayers, love and support. The drag racing family is truly that, a family. We appreciate each and everyone of your comments. Mr. Paul loved drag racing and especially watching his boys PB, Brett, our great family friend Rhett Fulton and soon his grandson Devin race. His love and drive for this sport was never ending. Although he may no longer be standing on the starting line he will definitely be cheering them on!!
And as Brett said please send special prayers for Mrs. Rita Thanks, Kimberly Candies 4010 Stock/SS |
