Re: Live at BIR s/ss
IT WAS A REAL NICE DAY!
WE FINALY HAD SOME SUN!! On Saturday: Terry Johnson in his SS/M Mustang was the winner over Lance Line in his #1 qualifying B/SA 69 Mustang. The race went off without any trouble at all. We had a good time and BIR has a concert "Lakes Jam" with headliner REO SPEEDWAGON tonight! I can't see what else you could ask for in entertainment. We had some of the new challengers & a new C/J Mustang racing with us but no new COPOS yet. It's just a matter of time. It seems that the number of cars stays the same 20-24. However the cars that are showing up vary. If we could just get EVERYONE to show at one BIR event we would have one heck of a deal going here. I hear that new things are on the horizon for the S/SS groups Midwest Class Racers & United Sportsman Assn. Sounds like good things are ahead! We need to stick together and support this type of racing. LOCAL ECONOMICAL APPRECIATED FUN STOCK SUPER STOCK RACING Glen, DeMenge Quote:

Re: Live at BIR s/ss
Sunday was a good one!!!!
Real Nice weather and dang good traction (for us anyway) The BIR crew has got it together and is putting on one heck of a race for the S/SS racers!! You can't beat this deal!! One tow 2 day race, excellent traction at a world class facility. A manned scale and a tech crew who "has a clue!!" This is a dog gone good deal and if you don't think so just ask WILD Bill Feist THE SUNDAY WINNER in his A/S 69 MUSTANG over James Findell in his wife's F/SA Plymouth duster. Lots of fun and fast cars and an all Ford winners circle! Congratulations to winners Bill Fei$t & Terry Johnson! For all of you that missed it, I'm sorry to tell you, you missed a good one! Just ask Bill Feist who was in Chicago and pulled the pin to come back home and race at the BIR S/SS combo!!! just sayin'.................................... P.S. I WOULD LIKE TO THANK Brian & Ron Zenzen for the extreme sportsmanship this weekend. (if you had been there you would understand), THANK YOU! Glen DeMenge |

Finally managed to figure out how the computer works...maybe.
As you hopefully can see we had old and new and fast and slow and "Hitters" and newcommers competing for the money and glory! Great weather, track prep and starting line officials were excellent, NO hassles or problems I am aware of.The quality of competition was as intense as any national event at Brainerd. As I recall Terry Johnson (saturdays winner) lost first round sunday with a .02 package. Lisson (LODRS Brainerd 2013 winner) spanked my deserving husband with an .02 package. HA! That will teach him to listen to my pre-race advice to cut a killer light AND listen to my dial in advice! Plain and simple...huge fun racing stock / super stock with fellow great racers thanks for being there! Lydia DrJRacing |

Dr. J'S COBRA JET SS/AAA car is a must see, with the wrap graphics as tribute to our troops.
Doug could you please elaborate and post some more photos for the 4th of July! It is way cool! |
Re: Live at BIR s/ss
Congrat's Terry and "Wild" Bill!
Both of these guys are excellent racer's. Might even be better than most being they can win in Fords, especially using a clutch... Great weekend on all counts. Hard to beat blacktop parking, electricity, a concert with well known bands and a 2 day race that ran well with only a couple complications which were handled very well. Payout is way better than I've seen lately. I was RU and got a check for $525 on a 31 car field on a $90 entry. Thanks BIR, keep up the good work! |
