Illinois gas prices!!!!
 

If you are coming to Rt 66 for the Div. 3 points race this weekend fill up your tank before you get in to Illinois.Prices in the Joliet area will be around $4.20 plus ,and in the $4.80 range closer to Chicago,and rising.

Lyn, that's west coast high. down here in the New Orleans area its low 3.10 to 3.20`s for regular and around the 3.50 range on diesel.

Price per gallon at the local Arco in Whittier is 3.79

$3.59 for gas? We're 100 miles east an it's $3.15 at Walmart with a 15 cents per gal less if you use their credit card. I just paid $3.009 for regular. It sounds like Chicago is worst than California, now that's saying something. When I lived in California it was only about 20cents more than Louisiana per gal.but then it was only $1.20 in Bakersfield.

Michigan, Illinois, Ohio, and Indiana are paying a premium for fuel, especially Michigan due to problems at a couple of refineries in Illinois and I believe one in Indiana. That's a canned excuse to squeeze more money out of us working stiffs. It is a big game the oil companies play. They have not built a new gasoline refinery in years and the ones in existence are getting old and falling apart. So, expect more of this crap in the near future. Cheap gas is $4.02 in my area.

This is what they told us in Minnesota 2 weeks ago when prices rose 50cents in 2days peaking at $4.49......paid $3.48 today.

Patel ---lowered the price at the Speedway on the way home from work last nite as I was sitting at the light on the way to work they raised it 30 CENTS with a flip of the switch--- no delivery truck in site--- stopped and bought a decaf asked what's up with the prices said they got "the call" to raise prices or "no more deliveries for a while gas shortage supplies are tight" ---BS----- my son's next door neighbor drives a gas tanker truck says he has been working 50-60 hours a week the past 3-4 months says they are forcing the stations to order more fuel even if they got a delivery 24 hours ago plenty of fuel if you want it this is the price otherwise they go to the next station ask them if they want to buy any gas--kinda hard to run a gas station if ya have no gas to sell----This happens every year about this time in the Chicago area--- they always have some BS excuse -----ALSO the taxes on gas/diesel in the Chicago are especially Cook County are among the highest if not the highest in the entire country----WARNING fill up before ya get here and maybe buy a 5-10 gal extra to get out of the area back to lower prices

Good advice in this thread.Do NOT buy gas in Illinois unless you have to.I went to work this morning and always pass an intersection with a Mobil and a Shell.This morning it was 4.359.I thought they were nuts.Just drove by on the way home from work...now 4.499.

This is for the cheapest,not mid grade or premium.

Don't know if it is a coincidence,but the prices have really shot up the last few days ever since the State of Illinois had their credit rating lowered,which already was the worst in the nation.

Not just ILLINOIS ...Terre Haute ,Indiania $4.25 today two and a half hours south of Joliet. Its just plain criminal !!!!!!!

1.34 a litre x 3.78 = $5.06 a US gallon for diesel here. $1 cheaper just south of the border. Only good thing is diesel is 4 cents litre cheaper than regular gas.
