Re: way to go mr gallagher
Stat of the week: Chuck is now the ONLY driver to win national events in the 1970s, 80s, 90s, 00s, and 10s. That's quite a career.

Re: way to go mr gallagher
Heartfelt thanks to all.
I can't express how much I appreciate all the kind notes all of you have posted congratulating me for my win Sunday @ ZMax. Winning the Charlotte race was the last item on my racing "bucket list" for 3 reasons. It was near here at the original Concord Dragway (about 6 miles from ZMax) that I first won a drag race back in 1967 with my family '64 GTO. I still have that class win trophy. North Carolina is "our house" and you always want to do your best there. And third, as Kevin McKenna said I, needed one more National event win to be the only racer to have done it in five different decades, and what better place then where it all began. I've always said "I'd rather be lucky..." and I certainly was this weekend. To get by the likes of Dan, David and Peter who combined have won well over 200 races and dozens of world championships was completely out of what I could have ever dreamed possible. I wasn't trying to cut .00 lights, I was trying to stay in the 20's; but as the saying goes, when it is your day.... I plan to take a few months off and spend some time with family so maybe I'll see you all after that. Thanks again for all your kind words. Chuck |
Re: way to go mr gallagher
Congrats on a very impressive victory for a myriad of reasons, but five decades of NHRA national event wins? Pretty awesome!
