Hello everyone, welcome to the Z Max Dragway. I just pulled in about hour ago. I will make my rounds to see who's here and get more photos.

The shots I took were on the way here, but I did get a shot of tomorrows schedule. Today's weather is warm and tomorrow will be about the same with late day thundershowers. We should be able to get our qualifying done tomorrow.

Tech went smooth, there seemed never to be a long line. Parking also was very smooth. Red and the rest of the crew did a great job as always, there really is not a bad spot to park here. It has to be one of the nicest facility in the country.

The first photo of the race seat is from Gary Richard's 2010 SS Cobra Jet Mustang. There as been some controversy about the passenger seats in super stockers. Paul, Gary's crew chief wanted to make sure that Gary's car is compliant with current rules, making the update for this race was a priority this weekend.

I found some more cars before they were put away. Most are in for the night.

I ran into Keith Lynch, he is racing two cars this weekend. The Camaro once owned by him and required to run A/SA. He also is racing a Drag Pak that he just purchased from David, aka New Hemi.

Good Morning everyone, Stock has not been called to the lanes as of yet. No rain, but lots of clouds. The rain is supposed to hold until noon, but it does not look good at the moment.

We are supposed to start at 8, but NHRA seems to be in no hurry.

Looks like they area already through Stock, Super Comp, and Super Stock first sessions. Hopefully the rain holds out for another session!

Super Stock is almost done and the sun is coming. As I was typing in my last post they called stock to the lanes.

Here are the weather numbers for stock.

Temp 72
Humid 67%
Bar 29.22
DA 2430
Wind cross tail... 5mph

For the most part racers ran it all out, but the two Copo's in CC lifted after the 1000ft.

The weather is not fast, but this track is always quick, tomorrow morning should be very interesting. Cold front coming through tonight, with first round temps in the high 40's.

I have two in car cams and lots of photos, I will be back later after I finish editing.

For those that are unaware, the track is noticably downhill , that is the main reason you go faster than you should there.

The sportsman are done for the day, and it just started raining. The second round of qualifying was about 3 to 4 slower.

The internet signal has slowed to a crawl. As the crowds come in the bandwidth is just not there.

I am trying to upload some videos, but its taking for ever. Tonight should be better and I should have it done by then. Photos are also a problem, I will be back tonight when the bandwidth returns. Maybe the rain will send the fans home and will be back sooner.

Thanks ever so much for keeping us updated Ken. Personally I don't know how I'd manage without you, Jack, The Hills, and all the others that post from events. With the commentary and the pictures etc. it's the next best thing to being there. Glad everything was good with the family last week. God Bless all there.

I don't know what happened over in kens camp but I think someone protested him they have the head off the car. But it looks like they are putting it back together so he will run tomorrow. If anyone has any info please tell us. I would but when I went over there they threw me out of the pit space. Thanks

Paul is correct about being in my pit area, kind of. I don't know anything about a protest though. If anyone knows Paul like I do, you know sometimes he gets lost. Yes he was in my pit area, but the Hawk and Cook car is not where I'm parked. I think what happened is he wander into the guys pit next to my pit spot, and they threw him out. Sometimes we have to put Paul on a leash to keep him in his pit area. Paul, I will be by later to make sure Gary gives you your meds.

The Pros were rained out, I think only a few pair made it down the track before the rain came down. Its still raining lightly.

Here is a video of Gary Richard in his 2010 Cobra Jet Super Stocker. It was hard to get the video camera in the right spot, so the video did not come out as I would have like it. I investing in new equipment to better angels, I hope the future vids will be better.

Thanks everyone for the kind words, its my pleasure to bring a little bit what's going on here at Z Max.

Here is the last batch of photo's. I will try to get more tomorrow after first round. We are supposed to be out first thing in the morning. The sportsman looked to have a great day of qualifying with no issues that I know of. The weather was not so nice for the pro's.

i think Paul is right, i saw them working on that Mustang, maybe ya should have let him in the pit , he could make it GO FAST LOL and evevyone, Ken is driving a Chevy powered scooter, while there were chev logo's on it, make him take a picture of that, Ken Jack would be proud of ya LOL. Brian

Ken, I too want to thank you for your Live reporting. When not there it is great to have people like yourself, the Hills, Jack, Michael Beard and others keeping us informed at home. Sorry didn't get to get the shirt before it started to rain. I'll try and get with you by internet and paypal probably..

Don't worry about it. Mostly driver error: not lined up in the groove, went up to the line too hot, late shift 1st run, early shift on the 2nd. That and the humidity didn't help either. I'm sticking to plan A: dial 13.79, cut a stellar light, keep my foot to the floor, and hope for the best. More importantly: have fun!

By the way, someone came by to look at the car today. Best case scenerio is that I finish the race and come home with cash in-pocket to build that Gremlin Super Stocker we've always talked about. LOL

Well, it was not as fast as most thought it would be.... I got very lucky on my run. Car went straight up and unloaded on the bars. They are running super stock now and stock suppose to be out after super gas for second round.

The internet access is horrible, it took two hours just to add this post. Stock got 2 rounds, all other sportsman only received one round. The will run there second round after the pros are done.

I do have two videos, an in car cam of Rock Hass in is 2008 CJ and Rusty Johnson who is driving a beautiful 64 Thunderbolt this weekend. The Thunderbolt is the pit cam, its nice vid of cool car. Forgive me, but I forgot the gentlemen's name who owns the car. I will get his name later.

I will be back tonight, when the bandwidth returns.

Does anyone know what the deal was with Mickey Whaley 1st round of stock? DRC showed his dail in at a 10.12, didn't know if this was a typo by them or if dail in got messed up.
