Live from Gainesville 2013

We are here sitting in line with the others who raced at Valdosta. We had a window sticker showing we were at the divisional, so we are supposed to be getting in before the rest of the crowd. There are lots in front of us though. As C & W said, we are not parking. Everybody's set up here in the parking lot. I am ready to rest a little though!

More later!

Re: Live from Gainesville 2013

Sammy, Jeff is still at South Georgia testing.

Robert, we are still on the outside, but I will let you know when I find out.

There are quite a few in line. I heard that Redman said that if it is dry in the morning we won't start parking til noon, but if it looks like rain, we will start earlier. Right now it looks like it is going to rain during the night and clear up by afternoon.

Its raining and quiet.

James that is a cool diagram.

A quick word about the track prep at SGMP. The track personel at the gate said the track was using VHT. I had no proplems hooking and I never heard anyone complain about the track prep. The track crew did a good job! Thanks.

Re: Live from Gainesville 2013

As Patsy said, it's pretty quiet here in Gainesville. I'm sitting here in my trailer getting some work done, and all I hear is the sound of generators running and the occasional rain drop on the trailer roof.

We've been in line since late yesterday morning. When we arrived back at the track this morning, we heard that parking was going to start around 11 am, weather permitting. Last I saw, this rain should pass through by late morning, so hopefully things will be moving by then.

More reports later...

I posted a few more pics on the South Georgia "Live" thread last night. I particularly like the one of Larry and Craig!

Thanks Larry and Jeff for all your reports live or "post" live.
For those that can't attend, it certainly helps ease the pain. It also keeps everyone up to speed so to speak. Best of fortune to you both this weekend.
Walt

We are in and set up!!!!! Way down next to the ET shack..... We like this area.... Not so much the dirt road even though they do water it down but just the quietness during the night.... I have to go to bed with the chickens to get up before the rooster crows!!!! Old habits are so very hard to break.........

Art,

We were one of the last few rigs in. They had finished what was in the parking lot, but I would imagine they will have more stacking tonight. We are parked right next to everyone's favorite live reporters! (Mr. Larry and Mrs. Patsy)

Art, everyone is parked that was in line. Red, Wallace and they rest of the crew did a great job getting everyone parked. They started at 2 and finished about 7, pretty amazing.

There was only a few cars out, one being Gary Richard's beautiful 69 Camaro that I am parked next to. I don't know who owns the CJ, and not sure what class, he will be running he has both stk and ss letters on the window.

It turned out to be a nice day, the sun came and it felt good to be in some warn weather for a change. The rest of the week is supposed to be great.

If they park you like the parked everyone today, you should be in quick. They are calling for overnight lows to be in the 30's. The morning shots will be fast.

The track prep at the Points race at G-ville was excellent! They were using VHT so apparently NHRA got the word! Weather and track should be very fast this year. Jim

After a long day of sitting in line, we finally got parked at around 4:00 pm today. Things went pretty smooth once rigs went through the gate. Looked like there was some drama going on with the order of who was pulled into the gate, but once you went in, everything was fine.

We're in a pretty good spot along the road where are the rigs went in. Grounds look pretty solid in most places, which is a plus. With the forecast for good weather, it should be race for the record books.

Only took one picture today. As you can see, Dad is busy surveying the parking situation...

More tomorrow.

That's one of the funny looking ones (1974-6).Maybe Mr Bridges or Mr Russell would care to get one and put a 401/4 speed in it. Nahh.
Anybody seen that little old man from the hills of Pa.?

Hi Ed - I'm parked next to Don Himes. We should have a Billy sighting today.

World famous Country Dog is on the property. After tech, we are going to check the inventory in the ponds, ditches, and Lake Woodrow. Menu will be posted later. We are parked in Cajun Corner next to a marsh area. Feel right at home.

Larry Hill 03-13-2013 09:37 AM

Re: Live from Gainesville 2013

Hey guys! Sorry I haven't posted, but I haven't had any internet until this morning since we moved inside and got parked. I remember now that I didn't have internet last year here either. I will try to go outside the gate where we were stacked yesterday and post a couple of times a day if I continue to have problems or I will let Chris post on his "Live" from Western KY post.

We are parked here in the cove in Cajun Corner. It is the first road to the right when you come down the main road. We are nosed into the trees which is probably why we have such bad reception. It took forever to even get our satellite working.

I am going to try and get some pictures today and hopeful get them posted.

More later.

Re: Live from Gainesville 2013

Country Dog & I have found the menu. It will be the accountant that adopted the FOLOFO method of accounting. First Out/ Last Out/ First Out which even the IRS don't allow. Looking at the schedule it must be so. We will have that person over for boiled crawfish from the crawfish's view. Trip to the tower coming. Collectively we probably paid $35,000 to $40,000 for this enhancement.

Well its a cool 52 degrees, but the sun is out so it should warm up quick. I took these photos while I was in tech this morning.

Patsy, I have good signal in my pit spot, if you need to upload photos let me know.

Hey Jack,I just wanted to show you know that your car is safe and sound.
