Live from South Georgia !!!
We are going to be heading out of here later today as soon as we get everything packed up. Car is ready and so is the motorhome. But we bought a stacker a couple of months ago and it is really a pain to get everything transferred over from the old trailer to the new one. And of course it is raining today and supposed to turn over to snow this afternoon, so hopefully we will get on down the road before it turns too cold.
Our plans are to run the divisional race at South Georgia, then on to Gainesville for the national event, then on to our favorite track at Belle Rose. I will post more after we get on the road! Patsy |

Re: Live from South Georgia !!!
We are rolling out early Thursday. Anyone know what is the best route? Two trip planners took me two different ways. I have not been there before. Take 319 out of Tallassee north, or take 221 further down I 10. Looking forward.

Re: Live from South Georgia !!!
I just got done loading up the trailer to head to SGMP and Gainesville myself. Unfortunately, I can't leave until tomorrow evening due to business commitments, so it will be fun traveling through the Baltimore/Washington DC area with the winter storm brewing.
I'll do my best to help contribute to the live from reporting. Feeling a little obligated since I'll have "Jumpin' Jack Flash" Matyas's Chieftain in tow... Can't wait to get out of this cold weather. It was in the mid-30s and windy at Atco on Sunday when I was trying to test... |
Re: Live from South Georgia !!!
Michael,
DING....DING...DING we have a WINNER!!! Very funny! |
Re: Live from South Georgia !!!
We are leaving this afternoon, I've been shoveling snow and chipping ice off the sidewalks this morning. 3 inches of wet snow yesterday and now frozen after the wind chill dipped in the low 20's last night. Can't wait to feel a little warm weather!
BTW, the reason for Larry's stacker: 71 Cuda on the bottom, 2013 CJ on top. Of course the wine cellar story is a good cover. Hope everyone has a safe trip. Dennis Breeden |

Re: Live from South Georgia !!!
Well we are finally on the road! We left this morning about 6:45. Loading up yesterday in the snow, rain and sleet with 30 mph winds and mid 30's wasn't much fun. We were so cold and tired we decided to wait and leave and take our first trip with the stacker in the daylight! It was also the first time we had pulled out of our driveway with the motorhome and trailer so it was a good thing that we could see. If the trailer had been a foot longer, that 100+ year old tree might have had to go!
Hey, Dennis, you weren't supposed to tell our secret!! We will see you all tonight! |

Re: Live from South Georgia !!!
The track staff are parking rigs until 10pm...then will get back at it in the morning.
Tech opens at 9am. Sure hope the wind won't join us. It sure was blustery today! |
Jeff
Call the dog, he has made that trip a few times!

Re: Live from South Georgia !!!
We are here and parked. We are down in the south lot behind staging. Nice and dry, level and paved. It was dark before we got in, so I haven't seen anyone yet, but I talked to Jim Marshall. So he is here and he said Jim Roberts, Gary Russell, Dusty Lowell are all here.
We made the 600 mile trip just fine! But following the directions for the track that was on their website, getting off at Exit 32, they were working on the railroad tracks, so we had to turn around and go back to exit 37. So if you are coming from the North just get off at exit 37 and go east til you get to Highway 41 and go south. The track is on the right. Well it is our bedtime now, so more updates tomorrow. We are planning on running the test and tune from 12-6. More later |
Re: Live from South Georgia !!!
Sound like you are with good company! Have a great time! Looking forward to your updates! Good luck, see you at Norwalk hopefully!

Re: Live from South Georgia !!!
Well, we are on our way south. Thankfully, the snowstorm in Washington DC turned out to be a bust on the I 95 corridor, so it has been clear sailing so far. Driving through Richmond, VA now. Should be at the track by mid-day tomorrow.
Glad to be heading to warmer climates. See ya at the track! |
Re: Live from South Georgia !!!
You guys are in for a treat, the weather is going to be georgous all weekend and should be fast too. Best of luck to all.

Re: Live from South Georgia !!!
Good luck to you all, I will have to miss it. That 4 letter word, WORK, has gotten in the way again.

Re: Live from South Georgia !!!
We're almost to SGMP. Decided to hit the Blue Beacon truck wash in Brunswick, GA to get the rig cleaned up. Jack wouldn't want his clean Trans Am hanging around a dirty truck and trailer...
More later... |

Re: Live from South Georgia !!!
Well it is a gorgeous day here at South Georgia! We are all teched in and waiting for them to call us up for test and tune.
It got down to about 34 last night and it supposed to be about that cold tonight. But today it is calling for mid 60's with bright blue skies. It is really good to get out of the cold! The parking is filling up but right now there is no wait to get in and get parked. Super stockers seen today: Brandon Wilkinson, Kenny Schindler, Jimmy Bridges, Jerry Silveus. More stockers: Dennis Breeden, Bruce Kerber, Dusty Lowell. I will try to get some pictures along the way today. More later! |
Re: Live from South Georgia !!!
Patsy please get some pictures of Robin Brown's Chevy II. He will be there this weekend. Thanks
|
Re: Live from South Georgia !!!
Robin Brown will not be there

Re: Live from South Georgia !!!
Patsy-nice to have your live reports back for another season! Where are the photos of the Hill racecars coming out of that new stacker? :)
|
Re: Live from South Georgia !!!
So glad that "Live" reports is back in business. Delmer & I follow you to every race. We enjoy the pictures as you travel (Brings back lots of memories for us), and we see so many different cars. We also enjoy, when you are un-able to go, when someone else fills in for your reporting. You really started something wonderful for all the racers that cannot be there. Keep up the reporting and we will be watching & reading. Delmer & Joan Wood

Re: Live from South Georgia !!!
It has been a long day of testing today and we finally made a decent pass. Sorry I haven't been posting much today, but hopefully tomorrow I will have more time. I took some pictures today, but photobucket has changed a bunch and I can't figure out how to upload the pictures to my account. If anybody who is here at the track knows how to do this new photobucket, please come over tomorrow and show me how.
Lots of people testing today. The Combo race starts tomorrow at 9, then Lucas Oil racers only at 11. It got cool tonight after the sun went down, supposed to be in the 30s again tonight. After it cooled down so much, Jeff Teuton got the heat going in his trailer, so we could sit around and tell lies in comfort! More tomorrow Patsy |

Looks like Mother Nature is going to make up for the weather there last year. Good luck and be safe.
