IHRA Contingency postings up 12 percent in 2013
By IHRA Media Jan 24, 2013 Following a busy offseason highlighted by format changes, increased payouts and exciting new looks to some familiar programs, the International Hot Rod Association is pleased to announce that the 2013 Contingency program is as strong as ever as postings are currently up 12 percent from last season with more sponsors on the way. Already in 2013 some two dozen companies have posted for racing products with more being added every week. Heading into the IHRA Summit Racing Equipment Pro-Am Tour presented by AMSOIL season opener at Immokalee Regional Raceway these sponsors are looking forward to the start of the 2013 IHRA racing season and are excited to be involved in the new-look Summit Pro-Am Tour and Nitro Jam racing series. “Our contingency sponsors are the backbone of IHRA sportsman racing,” said Robert Jaramillo, IHRA Director of Contingency. “Every competitor that races with the IHRA owes a big thank you to each and every one. In these tough economic times it is great to see so many sponsors actively supporting those that support them.” In 2013 IHRA Contingency sponsors will be a part of upwards of 40 IHRA events including the Summit Racing Equipment Pro-Am Tour, Nitro Jam series and the IHRA Summit Racing Equipment World Finals at Memphis International Raceway. Sponsors currently committed to the 2013 IHRA racing season are listed below. Re: NAtional Event Contingency
NHRA Racer site has a page of links to use for this and some of the 2013's are filtering in...

Re: NAtional Event Contingency
What I can't figure out is a company like Cometic Gaskets. Pay all classes except stock in NHRA.

Has listings for contingency per event. Small list but I'm sure there's more to come. |
Re: NAtional Event Contingency
Thanks for the link. Very strange, as they have such a diverse selection of custom gaskets. I would think lots of Stockers would use them. I do, and pretty disappointed they aren't posting for Stock.

See by Fletcher's post he is filling in his contingency line up card but it sure is hard when you're limited to mainly Divisionals and here we are 2 weeks away from the opening event and they don't have a contingency list.... |
Re: NAtional Event Contingency
We pay for LODRS, NHRA and IHRA National and Pro-Am events.
We pay the racers not the sanctioning body. Details on our websites. We pay for three products. TrailerToad.com, TrailerAlarmZ.com and TrailerJax.com Purchase of product in last three years and decals on vehicle are required. Good luck to all of you. (If NHRA and IHRA would lower their "administrative and minimum payments" a LOT more companies would pay contingency. Jok |
Re: NAtional Event Contingency
Mark,
They posted for stock in IHRA... maybe a typo? Might want to ask them? |

Re: NAtional Event Contingency
Add S&W race car and Harland Sharp to the "un-official" list. You do have to register with them both. Sure there are more.

Re: NAtional Event Contingency
National contingency postings aside, it's still pretty remarkable to me that the first Divisional race is 5 days away, some folks are probably using snow shovels to get their race trailer out and get ready to head south and there is no official contingency postings or even official payouts posted, just a generic flyer and a FB note that purse stays same as last year. I'll give them the benefit of a doubt that they are working hard right up to the last minute to get more contingency $ in the mix but still....and then NHRA will wonder why their Divisional car counts are declining.

Re: NAtional Event Contingency
Where can you find an "unofficial" list? I only buy products from contingency sponsors. Also, does anyone at all post contingency for Sony/Pc Richard national opens? I emailed every sticker I had on the car and they all said no which kind of sucked since there are usually more cars at the Dutch Classic than any other race aside from Indy. McCleod Clutches obliged and sent me $100 gift certificate and Red Line Oil sent me a little care package. But aside from those two companies, And Worner family caffeinating me regularly with Vegas Fuel, I got more contingency money from a 5 round S/SS race.

Re: NAtional Event Contingency
The list is where it usually is on nhraracer.com. The national list is by event and gives you a spreadsheet, which is convenient. I wrote about 15 of these companies last week and got responses the same day for decals, proof of purchase requirements, etc. I'm not sure what the fussing on here is about.

Re: NAtional Event Contingency
Found this for the divisional listings, maybe the link will work.

Re: NAtional Event Contingency
Was told that manufactures have untill 2-14-2013 to have their signed contracts in for contingency postings. NHRA will not post untill contract is received. Also learned that the Moroso trailer will not be at national events because they now only post for one product. Where before they posted for three. It seems you are allowed so much footage on maufacturers way by product. Three was enough for the trailer but one wasn't. Was told they will have some presence on the Hyatt trailer.

Re: NAtional Event Contingency
Some good news from the WinterNationals. The contingency handout showed SOME manufacturers paying $50 for a semi-final finish. This helps bridge the large monetary gap between the last two rounds. I assume this will hold true for all national events. Yes, it was an addition, not a take away or re-distribution.
