D STICK DUAL at GATEWAY!!!
 

Ok, Guys, I see there are potentially 4 of us in D.

I know this flies in the face of many of the keyboard strokers that say it is just a bracket race.

I know it is...with a twist of course.

I just wanted to let my intentions be known. I am pulling as much weight as I can to make D. I can't make weight, but I figure we are all close enough, that there can be some awfully good heads up match potentials in the Race next weekend. You guys all know our car. It isn't quicker, in fact I figure Rodgers to be quickest and the rest of us are all within .05 if we got our clutches right.

Just wanted to get the word out. I figure it would potentially add some fun to an otherwise lackluster eliminator.

I am out of goodies. I squandered that at the A Stick and A/SA challenge at Indy, but I would throw out that if anyone one of us meet heads up, maybe the loser has to wash and wax the winner's race car.

Jim , both me and George would love to be there to share in the fun in the D/S class. However, since we broke the engine at the Houston AAA Nationals last Friday during class run offs, we will be down for a while. The good news for us is the engine is still under warranty! Engine builder Jim Lewis was in attendance at the race and informed me since we only had about 10 runs and some dyno time, the engine was under warranty. We broke two lifters, which also hurt the cam and 4 pistons. We're done with Smith lifters! We will go in another direction, in the lifter department from now on.

Jim, that sounds like an awesome time. Wish my car was together to participate. Maybe next year at Indy.
Sorry about your engine trouble John, the car was running great. I'm sure you will be back and running as strong as ever soon. Maybe the tool steel lifters are way way to go these days.

It should be a good time! Gateway is a nice track and always hooked well. Hope you guys get your stuff together this winter. We broke enough and have our engine to fix up this winter as well.
Belle Rose is always a great race to shoot for! Maybe we can get a bunch of D cars to come there for class!

Quite honorable considering it was probably a component failure and nothing to do with his work. I've been down that path with Schubeck and also lost a puck, a cam, two rods & pistons and two sleeves. That's after I abrasively honed all my rings and bearings previous to that over a solid composite lifter failure. Should have my Tool steel lifters from Precision any old day now. I hope...

Kevin, welcome to Stick Racing! You said it, maybe,more automatic racers will see the light and pull that clutch pedal out from under the carpet!

Kevin, I didn't get a chance to find you in BG but I was at the finish line watching first round I think when you raced Kevin Helms. I think you started rapping the gas about the 1000' and still went 10.34 if I remember right. That car of yours is bad fast. Tony, Brian and crew at BES are top notch and it shows.

Chris, You are right! Kevin's car is stupid fast. and he only give them a little taste of how fast that BES ENGINES IS A INDY!!!! Tony's the MAN!!!!:D

Kevin is a great guy...blah...blah...blah....(he really is a great guy :) ), but I cannot believe he has that car for sale. I tell him every time I speak to him that he is nuts to sell it.

There is a lot left in the car and I am sure he could build another one that is as fast, but I don't know how for how little he is asking for that car.

Well, I changed to all the lightest stuff I had. Radiator, rear wheels, battery. Pulled the spare tire and weight box.
I should be able to hit 2820lbs on a 2775lb min. Call me crazy, but it sounds like fun.
