Darlington Pro Am?
Are you able to run 1/4 for time shots? Can you set 1/4 mile records there?
|
Re: Darlington Pro Am?
Art, it will be an 1/8 mile race. I doubt they will let you make 1/4 mile passes. Probably up to the new Division 2 Director. See you there. Jim

Re: Darlington Pro Am?
We've set 1/4-mile records there before. Teardown on Friday, run your record runs Saturday between qualifying runs (They will be separate... you will get no data from the runs other than ET & mph, so it's not an extra hit that non record-setters aren't getting)
Still waiting on a schedule. Rumor was they would stack the previously rained out Race #2 from Carolina Dragway onto Darlington... guessing Monday? Oh... speak of the devil... just went and looked and it was announced today: http://www.ihra.com/News/2012/07/16/2/ |

Re: Darlington Pro Am?
Sounds good to me. Hope to be there. Going to look for a room right now.
Any suggestions as to a hotel? I see a few in Florence, only one in Hartsville. |
Re: Darlington Pro Am?
Florence has a lot more to Choose From as well as eating joints. Don't know much about Hartsville.
Never saw 1/4mile record runs at Darlington. We did at Rockingham. Who is new director? What happened to Frank? Chip |

Re: Darlington Pro Am?
I forget the exit. I think 169 hwy 52? Lots of Name brand motels there. We always stay at the track but one year it rained us out and we got a room at either WWIngate/ or Wyndham cant remember it was new. Beard or Myron should be able to give you some choices.

Re: Darlington Pro Am?
We usually stay at the Days Inn. Right next to a Waffle House. Myron can eat there. ;)

Re: Darlington Pro Am?
Just booked the Red Roof Inn Florence. They are pet friendly, for our 4 legged son.
I have been led to believe I can get a membership and premanent number at the track, is this true? |
Re: Darlington Pro Am?
Yes
|
Re: Darlington Pro Am?
Yes you can Artie. They can probably give you the same number as your NHRA number, they are very racer friendly on the "dark side". I liked Frank a lot and I look forward to meeting Satch. I have heard nothing but good about him. Chip can probably elaborate about him. Jim Woods is working the tech at Darlington also. You will like all the tech guys and have a good but busy time I'm sure. Three races in one weekend is a dream come true! Jim

Re: Darlington Pro Am?
I have had no problems with Frank or any of the IHRA DD for that matter. Satch is very racer Friendly. He is a former Class Racer himself so he knows what we go through. You will like him.

Call Donna. She will take your credit or debit card and e-mail your membership card to you right away. She is very friendly and helpful. Much simpler process than NHRA. |
