Re: Challenger on Ebay

This Challenger body is also listed on www.moparts.com and has been for a few
months now..............as stated in the ad he decided to start with a used car instead
of building off of this body in white (Orange)?

Re: Challenger on Ebay

There are some bodies-in-white available from Mopar. 2011 DP V10, just like the picture except white. Cheap. I am having them work up a price with more parts (fascias, dash, door panels, interior roof panel, etc) which would be better for a ground-up ss car. Info. jefft@southlanddodge.com

Re: Challenger on Ebay

Anybody interested in building their own, I have a manual rack that had the aluminum housing accidently cracked on the car when it had a strap tied around it . ...It has been welded and works smoothly.
Jeff can tell you the cost on these racks is near $1400!
I will sell it for a fraction of the cost to someone who wants it for a build.
PM me if you need it.

Hey Jeff, so when is Chrysler coming out with the 'supercharged version' for the Hemi & V-10 engines...I heard some talk of them possibly replacing the Challenger and bringing back a lighter 'Cuda model...you're on the inside, any truth to any of these rumors.

Re: Challenger on Ebay

It's a persistant rumor, a reskinned Challenger into a Cuda with a 6.2 blown engine. I can neither confirm or deny cause I just don't know.

Re: Challenger on Ebay

Hopefully the Cuda will be about 10 inches shorter.

We were told at a recent tech class that the new Cuda would be built off a Fiat platform and supposedly be a lot lighter than the production Challenger too.

It’s the small parts acquired through a dealer that will nickel and dime you. Making a BIW build so expensive. Ford Racing has this kit with all the small parts which I was told I could find for less than $10k in the market. I guess they are only selling them for a limited time if anyone is interested. Link is below

One of the Mopar magazines has an ad for Challenger BIW's. $3500 and they have 20 available. Contact was listed as dragpak@gmail.com.

Looks like it sold for $4000

Re: Challenger on Ebay

$2500 for the biw from Mopar fob Detroit is closer.

Re: Challenger on Ebay

Wouldn't it be cheaper to build one from a strip down car than have to buy everything to finish a B.I.W?

Hemi Moose 05-15-2012 01:38 PM

Re: Challenger on Ebay

There's lots of wrecked Challengers in the junk yards across the country to cherry pick parts from...and $2500 for a body-in-white is a hell of a deal today, because they were $4500 when they first came out.

I think most people start with a B I W and scrounge another "doner" car, usually a boneyard piece that's been totaled. Back when I built my B I W, Oldsmobile was providing a doner car until they found out that some of the racers were selling them.

Do you recall what you paid for your Olds BIW back then or what they were selling them for...and what all came on it, or was it just a shell.
