Re: Peter Boslovitch passes
Peter was always great to see at the drag strip! I remember the first time I met him. I was with my wife's cousin at Viking International in Gimli Manitoba. We drove up fromWinnepeg with his 4 speed Z 28 street car to race it for the heck of it.
Anyway, the track was quiet, no one was racing. I guess there was a concert the night before and everyone, and I mean everyone was so hung over, they didn't start until noon! Peter was there and the car he had caught my eye. It was a K stick Malibu. Fast too! He was really nice about showing me around the car. He went some rounds too that day. It is tough seeing so many of the racers that built the class racing we enjoy pass on. It is a reminder to have fun doing what you enjoy when you can. God Speed Peter. |
Re: Peter Boslovitch passes
So sad to here this. Pete was a fun guy to be around. I was hopping he was doing better as he was asking about the race coming up at Top end raceway. Was really hoping to get to see him.
Rest in peace Pet you will be missed by all. |
Re: Peter Boslovitch passes
Also sorry to hear that. I never personally met Peter but being a former Manitoba resident I know people that were good friends with him and he sounded like a great guy. It did seem like he was doing better but Cancer is an ugly deal. Condolances to his family and friends.

Re: Peter Boslovitch passes
Sad news indeed John. Peter was such a unique and special person. He always had another angle on things. You might talk about five things you wanted to try; Peter had already tried them. If you wanted to go 55 mph while standing still, Peter did that too (don't ask - John knows). Oh the stories!! Pete didn't have enough time to tell them all here, but now he does and I know everyone up there is already laughing. Good place to be, eh?
Everything is a win light now good buddy. Peace. Jerry |
Re: Peter Boslovitch passes

Re: Peter Boslovitch passes
Pete and I were friends for more than 40 years and had traveled to many races together. Our last trip was to the World Finals last fall to watch our friend Jason Line race and to hang out with Jason's family. What did surprise me, but probably should not have, was that every time we turned around Pete was talking to another racer that knew him. Several times during that trip we talked about how much he wanted to race at Indy this year and I was proud as punch that Pete had asked me to tow him down and help him race his car much like Bob Gullett had done for him a while back. Pete, Johnny and I had gone to Indy with Johnny's car in 1990 when Johnny won class and this year's trip was to be a renewal of sorts. I will surely miss my friend Pete.
God speed Pete and thanks for the memories. |

Re: Peter Boslovitch passes
One of the saddest days ever for me.
Pete was THE inspiration for me to get in to stock eliminator racing. Jason Line bought the PIE WAGON from him in 1988 and he was always giving advice and confidences toward our racing efforts. He taught me quite a lot. It was a fun to race with him and learn from him. His passion for stock class racing was stronger than anybody I ever met! I will NEVER forget him and his love for this sport he will be sadly missed but never forgotten. Anyone wishing to have free a memorial decal can contact me here, or call 218-426-4009 GOD SPEED PETER, my friend. Glen Alan DeMenge |
Re: Peter Boslovitch passes
Peter and I had talked about a month ago ; he mentioned going to Indy this year and a million other things ( those that have ever had a conversation with him know what I mean ) . I will certainly miss our discussions .
God speed my friend ! |

He was very inspirational to a long haired punk kid in the '80's who wanted to race in Stock with the big boys, and one of the very few to not laugh, but to actually help and give advice, when I decided to do it with a new fangled EFI car. It just won't be the same now. |

Re: Peter Boslovitch passes
Truely sad and heartbreaking news.
Peter's stories, advice, motivation, and inspiration were never ending. He was one of the first racers to introduce himself to me and offer advice when I started racing. I cannot count the number of times he would call me while I was at the track or on my way home from the track to offer advice. Even when I moved to Arizona, he would still call to help me with my car. Likewise, I cannot count the number of times he would call just to BS. Pete was an honest, kind hearted person, on and off the track. I'm proud to have called him my friend. With a heavy heart I say, Peter you will be missed by myself and all those that were fotunate to have known you. Glen, please send me some decals. I will be proud to put them on my car. |

Re: Peter Boslovitch passes
I would like to express my sincere thanks to all of the fellow racers who had contact with Peter in some way, for sharing your stories. If you knew Peter, he loved the STORIES. I will miss him always, but I do find comfort in reading or hearing about past times. Thanks everyone.
