Golf Cart Raffle for Dan Parker
 

As some of you have read Dan had a terrible accident Sat at Steele, AL. Dan is Jimmy Parkers son. Dan owns and runs Parker Chassis as his source of income. Due to his injuries it will be a while before he will be able to go back to work. I'm raffling off an 08 EZGO cart, with new back seat, new wrap light, custom 14" wheels, and winners choice of colors on the body and upholstery. The tickets are $100 with the drawing to be held July 2nd. The drawing will be held at the shop(Parker Chassis). It will be videoed so if anyone were to have a question of validity.
The paypal for the raffle is jduck76@live.com . YOU MUST DO THIS AS A GIFT OR DONATION due to paypal not accepting raffles. We went through this with the raffle for the little girl with leukemia and this is the only way to do this. Please put your name, address, and two phone numbers if possible.


If you would like to actually just make a donation we have another paypal setup for that also. To keep confusion down PM me if you would like that paypal as we are trying to keep the money separate until the raffle is over to be able to check payments, ticket numbers etc.

I forgot to add, we have a friend that will deliver within 300 miles of Columbus GA, or will take care of shipping if outside of that. So don't let that stop you from helping out. Thanks

Thanks to everyone for your concern and prayers during the past few weeks. Sadly Dan suffered irrepairable optic nerve damage in the accident and has permently lost his sight. The other major injury was to his right arm but we expect it to be back to 90% or so in a few months.

First, Dan and the Parker family want to thank everyone that supported the raffle and the many other ways that Dan has been helped since his accident. The outpouring of support has almost been overwhelming at times and will never be forgotten.

Josh Mackey has done an excellent job on the golf cart raffle and as of now 170 tickets have been sold. Dan will be videoed this afternoon as he draws the winning ticket and the winner will be announced at that time.

Dan was orginally hospitalized at UAB in Birmingham and they determined that his optic nerves were compressed during the accident and as of this time there is not a procedure that will correct the problem. He had an appointment this past Tuesday at Emory in Atlanta and they confirmed UAB's findings.

At this time Dan is adapting as best he can and gets stronger by the day.

Please read the two articles on Competition Plus that Bobby Bennett has written about Dan and his recovery for a little more insight about his current condition.

Thanks again to everyone that has helped and supported Dan during a very difficult time and support DRAW every chance you get.

And the winner is: David Eason of McDonough, Georgia. David has been notified and thanked for his participation in the raffle. The drawing was videoed but not sure where it will be posted as of now.

We can't begin to tell everyone just how much we appreciated the support for the raffle and a special thanks to Josh Mackey for organizing the raffle and to Bill Howell for furnishing 500 tickets of which just over 200 were sold. The proceeds from the raffle will go along way to help Dan over the next few months until he can get adjusted and figure out a new career path.
