Why all the LT-1 B, C, and D stocker for sale?
I have noticed several quality LT1 B, C, and D/S/SAs for sale. Not being up to date on the rules and indexes, has something changed to make these cars less competitive?

Re: Why all the LT-1 B, C, and D stocker for sale?
Your packing a lot more weight against the other combos than they used to.
|
Re: Why all the LT-1 B, C, and D stocker for sale?
For C we are still one of the lighter cars. The weight thingy is pretty much in proportion. I can't think of any combo that runs C/SA that the LT1s shouldn't be able to run with competitively.

Re: Why all the LT-1 B, C, and D stocker for sale?
Kyle,
You can't think of enough combos! |
Re: Why all the LT-1 B, C, and D stocker for sale?
Ok...the 396 iron head of PC Richards/Bertozzi, Glassbrenner's 400 Pontiac, Corda's LS1 Vette are some of the fastest in class. That being said, I still feel that we can be competitive against those.

Kyle,
If you get any more hp you are going to have to buy stock in a lead factory or put my fat butt in there somewhere! Seriously, you have yours running good. Might not be fair compared to some of the new stuff now, but give them a little time... you and some others have a solid combo that will repeat with the LT-1. Ken |
Re: Why all the LT-1 B, C, and D stocker for sale?
I enjoy trying to chase those guys. I think we all can agree the 454 is not the greatest combo out there but Division 1 has a awesome collection of C cars from the LT1, LS1, Steel 396, 428 Ford. Gary has me covered by 2 tenths.....he told me that 3 days ago. Ha. Trying to make the horsepower and getting the right setup is a lot of the fun with the Corvette. I have close to 300 pounds in the car also to get to C weight.

Is that a natural C car? If so move it to B. Dont know if it would be any better there with other cars or not? just a thought |
Re: Why all the LT-1 B, C, and D stocker for sale?
By the way Mike, hope you find that 2 tenths. Love the Vettes

Mike weren't you in a future c car this past weekend? LOL Barry

Re: Why all the LT-1 B, C, and D stocker for sale?
It's a natural D car. Would love to run B. If you can get light enough, they should let you run whatever class you want. The car is well under 3,000 with two batteries in it and an IRS rear.
Barry, I kept my foot in it. Have to give credit for that. |

Re: Why all the LT-1 B, C, and D stocker for sale?
Mike you may have keep one foot in it but you had the other one dragging the ground. I love that you guys are old school stockers like myself but I would find it hard to believe that you showed the cars whole hand. Imangine having it for 10 years and working on it and spending money every year to go faster. How fast can one of those go then? I love your vet. And it runs pretty dam good. And the driver ain't to bad either. See you guys in a few months Barry

He kinda stirred up old' Sam I-can't-spell-his-last-name. LOL

Re: Why all the LT-1 B, C, and D stocker for sale?
When he went thru the lights on his 3rd round for Class, engine popped and died. Kyle pushed it from the last turn off to scales by himself( his ever present crew-chief is home sick). The cam pin that drives the opti-spark snapped off. He was able to fix it the next morning with the generous help of Jimmy Hidalgo and P C Richards which he very much appreciated.

Re: Why all the LT-1 B, C, and D stocker for sale?
Kenny,
Thank you for the kind words. My dad and I have been working on it over the off season and had high hopes. The work seems to be paying off. Mark, I tried to get him to post that I had a header tube break away from it's weld then go flying around the engine compartment until it snapped off the Optispark, but he told me you would call foul to that. ;) The pin broke and the car backfired then died right at the last turn before the sand. I had to push it from there. Man I was regretting not taking the earlier turn. At least I had a lighter combo rather than that pig heavy combo that Pedigo runs. (I am sure he will have something to say about that cheap shot). I thought with the newer and friendlier NHRA that I would have gotten their first Ironman for the longest push of a racecar, but they had their hands full with important stuff. |
Re: Why all the LT-1 B, C, and D stocker for sale?
Uh, Kyle Ironman is "the other HRA" lol

Re: Why all the LT-1 B, C, and D stocker for sale?
That is the biggest down side to the LT1's,, did this numerous times,, was able to change it out in less than 30 minutes. Not something I wanted to get used to doing.
