How light can you get?
What kind of car and how light; just in case we have Top Stock at the Cajuns. Older cars here, I know what the new cars can do.

We have an MD on staff, and he can help. He normally does hearts, but its close, and he can do it on a lift in a stacker.

Jeff , My 08 CJ is at 3650 lbs with me in it , If I take a seat out 45lbs , a battery another 40lbs , 50 lbs of ballast , if I got a aluminum block another 80 lbs.
Total 215 lbs off the 3650 = 3435lbs race ready with driver (265lbs) and aluminum block 3515 lbs with steel block NHRA CC/SA 3650lbs How light can those DP get ? |
Re: How light can you get?
Depends on whether or not I can keep Keith out of McDonalds...
But, for now, let's call him 200 pounds.. And here is the weight for my car wet, OIl, Water and full Duel Cell, but without driver. http://www.newhemiracing.com/images/100_0096.JPG We do still have somewhere between 60 and 80 pounds we could lose if we had a real reason to do it. And maybe another 20, if I can get Keith back on his all veggy diet. David The New Hemi Guy |

69 428 CJ Mustang Might could get to 3200 if I lose all the ballast both bolted and welded in, passenger seat, fold down back seat, hood, front bumper, and shaker assembly. |

Re: How light can you get?
Tried staying inside for a couple of weeks and noticed my tan had faded somewhat. I'm figuring with about a year staying indoors I can get as light as I'm going to get. Not sure but I believe that them folks up in Alaska go from tan to really light and then back again with them different months of light. Hope this clears up this post. I go outside as often as I can here in Florida, I do not want to be light, I've been weighting for summer. Can't weight much longer.

Re: How light can you get?
68 Camaro 3040 race ready for F/CM with wheelie bar, single 16v turbo start battery, 3 sp. i could drop under the minimum (2975) with my lipo battery, the glide and no wheelie bars. i also have just bought a set of Aluminum body shocks i believe are lighter than the steel ones they will replace. The only way i could loose another 120 lbs off the race weight of the car would be to put my wife in it!

Bobby Bender says you guys are featherweights ! This is as light as "Fat Girl "gets.
His rear axle weight is more than my Corvette weighs with me in it !! The rear weight bias is something most Super class racers would die for! |
Re: How light can you get?
You know, you can't help but worry about those Arkansas folks. I never heard that one.
