Lucas Oil Schedule is Up on DRC

Orlando is back on the schedule for 2012 - looks like it has replaced the Bradenton race.

No Charlotte, guess they will blame that on attendance.

One can only hope! But, we've said with the last few d.d.'s that it couldn't get worse and were wrong. Were is Ned, he needs to come back (he's smarter than that!).
If all goes well, maybe Fontana will get added at a later date.

Division 2 and Division 4 really need to give more thought to scheduling both Georgia points races conflicting with both Houston races. This will have a serious effect on car counts. Come on Royal Purple, SGMP and Silver Dollar, get together and work it out. Smart people would realize the right thing to do. With low car counts, it will bring your bottom line down. Am I the only one who feels like that?

For the first time in as long as I can remember, Lebanon Valley is not on July 4th weekend. Will definately help with traffic.

And, Randall, the Noble race date was changed. Maybe it won't rain? Oct. Race is moved to Houston.

That's a shame, moving that race to Bristol isn't going to help car count. Heck I can't even run the index up there. I wish they would have given it another year and maybe the weather would have cooperated a little better.

In Div. 6, it looks like Woodburn gets 2 LODRS races next year. It appears that Woodburn got the last race of the schedule, that used to be at Medford for many years.

Mr John,
I feel the same way as you. We usually make a few division 2 races because it is closer to us than it is to tulsa or noble. It can't be that difficult to work together when you have neighboring divisions that many people run races in both divisions. It was the same story last year!

Dyno 11-13-2011 02:11 AM

Re: Lucas Oil Schedule is Up on DRC

They ruined the early season in Div. 5 by putting a week in between the points race in Great Bend (5/5-6) and the national event in Topeka (5/18-20). There were many racers from Minnesota who went the distance to Great Bend because we could make two races in one trip. NHRA should move the points race to the weekend of 5/11-13 and help reduce driving, increase their car count and save everyone some $$$. Dyno

Re: Lucas Oil Schedule is Up on DRC

They just made it more expensive to race in Division 7............

They eliminated Bakersfield (210 miles) & Medford (422 miles) from Gilroy, CA.......

To race at the 5 Division 7 races it is a total tow of 4,400 miles........

NHRA just raised the cost of racing again......

Bob

Division 3 has a points meet in Columbus in July again. If memory serves me correctly this race has been a problem to complete the last four years in a row. Why didn't they schedule it the week before the Sportsnationals? Car count would see a measurable improvement.

You know what it means if you continue to do the same thing repeatedly and expect the results to be different? Thanks Jay for the great treatment of your paying coustomers.

Exactly. We had hoped that getting rid of "Rosey" would help scheduling conflicts with neighboring divisions. We live on the border between 2 and 3, but we've also wanted to run division 4 races at times. Not only do we like to run other divisions, but it's always good to see our friends from other divisions come to races in our divisions. It helps the car count, which is good for everyone.

I don't know why they moved Reynolds up one week a few years back, but I wish they'd put it back where it was.

Because Norwalk National is 4th of July weekend now and I know a lot of D-1 cars will go to that so it was a smart move.

May be Div 6 will have a Div at the new track in Shelton. Like they did a couple of years ago with spokane they had to run a braket race first before the could schedule the Div race. Maybe thats why woodborn has 2 right now or if they are not up and running yet. Anybody know if the track is going to be NHRA or IHRA?

I wonder what sense it makes to not have a race at Bakersfield - it seems like a good facility to me - a little smelly and dusty at times but I mean WTH

Probably as much since to the Pros to be out west for Pomona and Phoenix and drive 3000 miles to Gainesville and then 3000 miles back to Las Vegas and then 3000 miles back to Charlotte

I know - I know who cares

If they can be so stupid with the Pros - what do you think they can be with us

Bakersfield is an easy tow from both the bay area and southern calif and they take it away! I just don't understand why they don't consider the racers when they make the schedule!

I was told that Bakersfield chose not to pay NHRA the money they require to host a points race. Can't say that I blame them.

If you have ever talked to the guys who run Famoso you would understand why they don't have a Division Race this season. Cost of Doing Buisness with NHRA has PISSED off another Track plain and simple.... Thank you NHRA !! ANRA is sounding better and better every day is all we need is the support from west coast racers to make a change.

Re: Lucas Oil Schedule is Up on DRC

Bakersfield and Sacramento both are venues close to So. cal and No. cal but this division (7) is forcing anyone who is serious about division point championship to now go to TOP GUN no choices for your 5 races to claim points just spend the dollars and travel like a professional, well not being a independently wealthy person SUMMIT SERIES racing looks better, or PSCA, or SUPER STREET ASSOC, I,ve raced STOCK ,and SUPER STOCK exclusively for 30 years and this NHRA 7 director is directly dismantling DIVISION 7 year by year no consideration for the hard economic times Allen Rhinehart said it today thanking everyone at Pomona for spending their dollars to watch NHRA RACING (the premier venue undoubtedly) but regionally they screw us everytime we show up. Load in early fees, extra tech card fees, camping fees, leave your rig overnite fees, buy back fees, extra test run fees, I could go on and on, our entree fee allows us 1 or 2 runs period, it use to cover 4 runs. This Director should be ashamed of his disregard for fair and unbaised direction of the racing done here in Division 7. The out of towners just recieved a taste in VEGAS of what we deal with year after year, they were apauled and won't ever come back, the lack of professionalism by him and the way we always loose Qualifying runs, to hot ,to cold, to windy, to late, to close to lunch, lunch break, dinner break, break break break, haven't you all had enough I have! The desire of everyone racing is to try and compete with each other not with a sanctioning body that only wants your money and gives nothing back, and now takes a Divisonal away why ? It can't be from overwork the down time at Division races rival a Doctors appointment and we all now how we wait for that...........JUST MY 2 CENTS...Oh what did you say Mr. Rice It 'll cost me 5 cents?

Re: Lucas Oil Schedule is Up on DRC

I don't think all these dates are set in stone. My understanding is that the tracks have most of the say on the dates. Maybe if Nitro Joe could post a schedule (temporary) with the Lucas and big races, and sptnationals, we could have something to work with, division by division, we could effect a change. Worth a shot.

If they are going to move one of the events, Houston vs Cecil, I hope it's Cecil. I would much rather a week between Houston and Belle Rose National than back to back weekends. My tow truck is kinda old and needs some rest between events, or maybe its the tow truck driver, lol

You will not see the Cecil race date changed as it is the week before the Gatornationals and that has always been a sought after date in D-2. Buy a new truck!:D Jim
