Ken,
5.0 HO with a slightly defactored HP to 205.
Very heavy car.

Beth's 89 Mustang P/SA convert is normally raced at almost 3700 lbs.
Her's is at 215 HP

Re: P/SA 94 Mustang ?

I will set the story straight. It's a 5.0L pushrod V8 factored at 210HP. Car has to weigh 3530 with me in it. It has ran .96 under at Vegas before, but the motor was just freshened and she is running good. Should be setting the record with it next weekend at the points race, but didn't mean to hit it that hard in the class race. Oh well, it was fun and can only run that set on kill.

I figured you'd be stepping in here, Jeff. You got everybodys attention. Good job!

Re: P/SA 94 Mustang ?

Thanks Floyd, I always appreciate your support. I guess it was a great run by Stocker standards, although I was busting my butt to make it happen.

Congrats on the run Jeff.
Please don't hit it too hard. ;)
Some of us still would like to get in with our 5.0 SN95s....

Re: P/SA 94 Mustang ?

Oh Bob, you are such a trouble maker!! Tell ya though, those Mopar parts works great. Had a Mopar Direct Connection ignition box in my Vega back in the day (too cheap to buy a MSD). Won a points race and claimed the box for decal money. Mopar denied the claim because "ya can't use Mopar parts on a Chevy".

Re: P/SA 94 Mustang ?

Thanks everybody for the kind words. Don't worry Alan and Charlie, after reading the AHFS rules I think we will be alright. I will end up getting one more hit this weekend, but they only refactor it if the class average is .85 under or faster. As long as I don't go 1.20 under, which I don't intend to, we should be safe. It is an annual review also, so next year we will start fresh and this is the last opportunity to hit it. I just need to make one hit right about 1.00 to 1.10 under, and that will set the record and keep the combo safe. See you all this weekend.

Thanks Irving family. You guys are always great, and I definitely might need some help since I am flying solo. See you there.

Congrats indeed but shouldn't you guys conspire a little more "covertly".

I really have nothing to hide, but if I am giving away something to NHRA that could get me in trouble, PM me. My combo is legal, and they will find that out at teardown this weekend.

Re: P/SA 94 Mustang ?

It would be nice if there was one thing in the schedule that would help any stock or superstock car set a record. I was going to to try to set a record but with that schedule no thanks. Good luck with the record. I will have to get working on the firebird to keep up.

mopar jeff 10-31-2011 04:17 PM

Re: P/SA 94 Mustang ?

You are right Paul, but with the luck I have been having in the eliminator I don't care. Maybe being unprepared and behind the eight ball for the eliminator will help. I make a great run, and the other guy/girl somehow gets me by mere thousandths. My last four losses combined were .020 total. That stings when you see the crappy packages that net people wins. Oh well that is drag racing, and the reason we keep coming back. The luck has to turn my way eventually. Hey I couldn't run with you at Fontana, so you should take a shot at it.

Re: P/SA 94 Mustang ?

i was going to set the record with the belvedere not the firebird. I will get working on the firebird over the winter.
