Vic,

are there many who left their stuff inside from last weekend ? I am planning to get there around midnight tonight, if it rains, i'll catch up on bench racing

How is that construction on 222, i usually come in that way and get fueled up at the Hess . usually I come down rt 100 and cross over onto 222.

Dave,

I left about 6pm Saturday night and I'd say about 60-70 trailers were left behind for this weekend. It was kind of spread all over the lot, not just clumped in one spot. Depending on who goes to Silver Dollar, Virginia & The Dutch hopefully with the R predicted for Wednesday they won;t have to park very many rigs out into the field. I'm hearing about an inch worth of rain possible on Wednesday.

Dave , the 222 bypass was still 1 lane heading towards the Grove as of Sunday.
They had removed the barriers on the Northbound side, last week, but southbound was still 1 lane.
Late night traffic was'nt bad thru that area last week.
Hess @222 was $3.74 for diesel and $3.39 regular.

From the D1 website

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
October 11, 2011

Overnight stacking will be done in the staging lanes. Cars will be released from the staging lanes to their pit area and then be required to proceed to the front gate and purchase credentials. All Drivers and crew must display wrist band to be in restricted area's. Wrist bands available at tech once you show your driver or crew ticket and pass technical inspection.

Photo display will be done this week by the Division Photo Staff and pictures can be viewed at the Glick Trailer at the rear of the staging lanes. Also an online photo site will be announced during the event for viewing of photo's from the event.

Class eliminations will be run for all classes. If weather curtails class eliminations, the fastest car will be the class winner in each class. A plaque will be awarded to each class winner, even if there is only one car in the class. There will be no combo class at this event. No points toward the NHRA national class points system for class.

Well, I'm in Phoenix right now and the weather channel says it's 89 degrees. :)

And I was thinking it meant something different than weather, if you know what I mean. :D

I think ya lost me, bro. Are you saying that Vic meant he'd rather be at Maple Grove rather than Florida because of the weather??? And NOT that he would rather be racing than not racing??? I think you better go back and read Vic's post again. lol

Arrived at 12:30 am as planned, constuction on 222 not a problem . We were 5 or 6 in line in the staging lanes, only one pulled in after us. Parked us at 7 am, our friend Tony was parking. There are a lot of trailer scattered around the pits, plenty of flat pavement currently. There are virtually no rigs coming in at this time. Has been raining light to moderate since 3 am, mostly light steady rain. May be a good night to go to the Shady Maple, I guess any night is good to go there

Well the only problem with it being 6pm is they will be calling Super Gas to the lanes for 1st round...haha. Hopefully that won't be the issue with the Dutch this year but, we always seems to run 1st round late on Saturday night.

Wow Bob, looks like you have a lot of sponsors....might have to renegotiate the contract over the winter time...that glovebox might be getting too full for those dollar bills...haha!

Hey Bob Bender! Are you going to save me a pit spot with you guys this time or should I try to find something somewhere else. I should be there around 1 PM tomorrow. I have to take Emily somewhere in the morning, then drop her off at school, then head out.

Well, you quoted *my* post where I was talking about Vic's post and I said:

"And I was thinking it meant something different than weather"

Then you replied:

"Well, I don't, ..." and proceeded to talk about seeing a full moon.

Sounds to me like you're disagreeing with my post. Anyway, see you on Friday. :)

It stopped raining about 11, and the pavement is dry. It may rain again, but this is one event that we love to attend. So , load up and come on down. We may see some rain, but so far not that much has fallen and the facility is ok. lots of dry parking available. It is a great day to catch up with friends,

Re: at the dutch

Your going to likely get some more rain soon at the track and it will last a while..... radar maps show a big green blob heading your way...

My truck and trailer are ready to roll.....but from what I see on the radar maps....I might as well wait till tomorrow to head out.....and even then it's not looking great.....

I am 120 miles away....

A super soaker just passed through. Probably more than an inch and now it's down to a drizzle, but that may change. I would be very surprised if anything goes down the track in the morning. They stopped parking at 8:00 PM.
