folks, everybody that loves nostalgia stuff as much as me needs to get this book, I just wish there was a drag racing magazine that didnt cover the pro's and covered sportsmen cause 90% out there that do race or hardcore spectators like me could give a rats *** about the new wave pro's.

Yeah I also wish this site had a Vintage Drags section so everone could post all of their old photos and race topics in so they wouldn't get deleted or get accused of pushing down other peoples newer threads...I also bet there is someone out there that would even sponsor that Vintage Drag section with all of the nostalgia stuff being sold out there...so what do you all think about that idea.

You need to go over to Colesy's Jr. Stock Site. It covers A/FX thru C/FX, Jr stockers, stockers up to around 1986, Modified production, old rules, different racers like Cal Method, Sox, Tony Janes, Wally Booth, Jenkins, etc. Some that I never heard of even, Great photos and stories. http://www.colesy-juniorstockforum.com/forum/index.php

Yea, I saw that the other day while grocery shopping. Old Dodge performance car ads, Dyno Don and nostalgia funny cars were some of the articles.

:cool::cool::):cool::cool: I am hoping this new magazine - Elapsed Times - becomes a regular thing. With all the interest in Nostalgia Drag Racing this will surely be a big hit with us older folks. Most of my friends either already have a copy or are getting one very soon. It is long overdue, since the NHRA circus doesn't do it for us older guys anymore. I still get excited seeing front motored dragsters. Just got home from the Arlington Dragstrip Reunion and all I can say is WOW and "more nitro fumes please." Ron - recovering in Fife, Wa.

Eight-page article titled "The Super Stocks in Pro Stock's Family Tree" by some has-been editor. Unfortunately they edited out the really juicy stuff . . .

Future issues will depend on newsstand sales and advertising support.

I'm sure most of you are aware of the H.A.M.B message board's thread on junior stock by now. If not it's only about a thousand pages! Be sure and grab a sami' and a cold drink before checking it out. It will be a LONG night.:D

Picked it up last week, Joe. Its a good mag, providing a great look back. I'm hoping maybe it will become a quarterly issue as opposed to a monthly, as like most of us over 50 somethings, I've got every magazine I've ever bought and the rafters in my attic are starting to creak a little, so I don't need to start another monthly!LOL.

It's a newsstand-only publication -- I've seen them in a Walmart in Sheboygan, Wisconsin, and at the Baltimore airport. People also tell me they've found Elapsed Times at Barnes & Noble and similar stores. So it's kind of a random distribution, probably depends on the size of the newsstand, the shelf space, and whether the distributor is a vintage drag racing fan <g>.

Hot Rod Deluxe started as a one-shot, but it generated enough support to become a bimonthly. Perhaps Elapsed Times will follow the same pattern . . .

Rick, what the heck were you doing Sheboygan. BTW, you were my hero back in the Camaro Craft days. I learned alot from your writing. Thanks.

I've got my fingers crossed for a future issue of Elapsed Times including a reissue of the best ever drag racing article, White Line Fever from Car Craft many years ago. Granted it revolved around Modified Eliminator but DARN, it was good!

I don't know about that, but Sheboygan is pretty close to Road America at Elkhart Lake. I can only hope he doesn't start saying "motorcar" and writing about road racing. He will always be a drag racer to me.

Even though I`m a Ford guy, I always thought that the Voegelin, Mayerson, and McGonnegal era at Car Craft was the best for the tech features and overall reading enjoyment. So many great Stock, S/S and M/P features.

Wow, I didn't intend to high-jack this thread and turn it into a Car Craft lovefest . . . just hoping to encourage guys to seek out issues of Elapsed Times (shameless plug). Maybe I can clip all these comments, send them to the new-guy editor, and convince him to make ET a quarterly in 2012 -- and perhaps to raise the page rates, too <g>. I've got plenty of ideas for articles, just need someone to print them.

But I do appreciate all of the kind comments about "Drag Racing's Incomplete Magazine." It amazes me that people still remember articles like "White Line Fever" -- I can vividly recall writing the manuscript longhand on a yellow legal tablet 36 years ago, but some days I have trouble remembering my own phone number.

And yes, I will confess that I was in Wisconsin for a race at Road America. Still racing small-block Chevys, but instead of 10-second runs, we do it for 24 hours straight at places like Le Mans with the factory Corvette Racing team. But I still have the old CC Super Mod Camaro out in the barn. Maybe someday . . .

Rick Voegelin, I still remember White Line fever, one of the best articles in CC. Bracket Racing USA when first edited by Dale Wilson was a great magazine which incorporated Bracket Racing little guy and sometime Class Racers. Next best thing is Drag Racing online. Claude
