Congrats to Drew Skillman on your runner-up at Norwalk. A 20 year old kid racing in STK/SS on $5000000 of grandpa's money, life is good for some. While the kid has some skill I think the car is doing most of the work. We will see if he wins class at INDY. My money is on Bo 10 to 1 odds.

For christ sakes can't we just congratulate this kid without sarcasim? I met the entire Skillman clan @ Norwalk Nats. really nice people 3 generations racing together what the hells wrong with that? Jealousy is ugly, give the kid a break. My kids raced my junk a few times on my dime, someone got a problem with that? Joe

Re: Congrats Drew Skillman

Great job Drew. Getting to a final round at a national is a big deal and you managed to do it faster than most. The car can't do all the work required to make that happen on it's own. It's good to see your old man racing now too. Keep up the good work! Charley, the last time I checked, Drew did win class at Indy last year in a stick car, so he knows how to get that done. Now tearing the car down is a different story. I'm sure the Skillmans can figure out how to run with Bo.
Rusty

I'd like to nominate this post as worst post of the year.

Classy Charley, classy.

I'm with Charley - it must be the cars, even he went a bunch of rounds in one last season!! Sorry dude, you set yourself up for that one.

Good job Drew. I had a hell of a race with Drew in 2nd round at Norwalk with .0025 separating us at the finish line. Too bad it was at midnight and there were 5 people in the stands to see the old mustang vs new mustang "showdown" lol

Apparently no statute of limitations on bashing of the new cars....

I met the Skillmans at Bowling Green, indeed they are nice folks.

Re: Congrats Drew Skillman

Tim that is my whole point, if I can win in a CJ anyone can. And running 140mph in STK gives you a big advantage. Big money helps a ton.

Joe where in my post did I say the Skillman’s were bad people? The Skillman's are a nice family. I just pointed out facts after some no named clown made a post about how good he is. I’m not jealous earthier I have one of the nicest CJ out there.

Chris I’m glad to see you still have a computer that works. I don’t think any of my posts are close to Jason fuller’s.

Rusty he ran Don Fezell for class last year come on.

What is my Problem O great Blue Ovel Ralph? I race and use my real name.

F/X gentlemen! F/X!!!!

Congrats Drew! Quite an accomplishment for a youngster such as yourself! Take it one win further next time and you're really enjoy yourself! But wait til next year so you can celebrate legally!!!

Re: Congrats Drew Skillman

Yes Charley you have a very nice ride, never said you implied the Skillmans weren't good people just stated my view of them. I just thought it a strange response for a kid out there doing his best...no matter what budget he's racing on or whos money. I'm quite sure his folks didn't "buy" him those round wins he earned them fair and square. I know I'd be offended if someone posted something like that about me. Lets all please give credit where credits due.... apparently we have plenty of other issues to bicker about. BTW nice job Drew. Joe

Re: Congrats Drew Skillman

So now his car isn't legal? Man it's worse than watching Oprah. If everyones so damn sure his and others cars are not legal... please E-mail your Div. director or NHRA tech. I'm sure your concerns would be addressed. Joe

What Bryan meant was his age. He is only 20. Not the legality of the vehicle.

Boy, everyone is touchy on this subject.

Re: Congrats Drew Skillman

LOL...I think he was referring to the fact that he's not old enough to drink, not the legality of the car.

Sorry, guess I'm so old I don't think of those things. Joe

It gets worse....like automatically getting a seniors discount, don't say a word; one look by the cashier and it's like "ching"

At least the Skillmans aren't as reluctant to run their cars the whole 1320...you gotta like that.

I sure hope we can all agree that we need more 20 year old young men in our sport.Congrats Drew!

Congrats to the Skillmans and as far as the tear down comment? If you are implying that they don't know how to work on their cars...stop by the classic car shop and you will find them in t- shirts working on old cars all the time. I think Donnie Garner and Wes Wells know a thing or two about going fast also.:)

No doubt your cars are all bad a*** and I actually like the new cars but your point about the sheer number of new cars showing at Indy this year means that .80 under cars like mine don't stand a chance of even qualifying for Indy this year. Personally, I can't afford to run .95 under in the land of no barometer, we low compression folks typically can't run those numbers without cubic $$$.

....And that is the exact reason it should be class winners , plus qualifiers at Indy.

I personally hope that a lot of the DNQ's are some of the higher class, "old school" cars that were all in favor of the change a few years ago.

There goes what's left of this thread all to h*ll......

You're right...there will be plenty of threads moaning on all that, I previously said I like the Skillmans after meeting them at Bowling Green and I congratulate them for at least running the cars closer to their potential than some.
