S/SS COMBO THE DATE IS July 30-31 2011

NOT 30-13???? Dyslexia with numbers I guess??

Another 2 day event for all of us to enjoy!!

The last event was a very pour turn out it was
disappointing to say the least.:(

We need to support this place.

They Truly WANT ! STOCK AND SUPER STOCK CARS at their track !!

The NEW OWNER and his staff went Over and
Above with special treatment for the S/SS racers
who were able to make it. We were treated like royalty!

The traction was !! EXCELLENT !! :)

No Excuses, Just Results!!

I just spoke with Jeff from TopEnd Dragways
He was very proud to let me know that the track now has
an ALL new timing system computers software the whole Sha-bang!!

So...
Lets get some cars out to Topend Dragways
On July 30-31 and have some FUN!!!!!!
It's a good time and they would love to have US race at their track.

Let's make it happen!!

Thank You for the support and kind words for TOPEND DRAGWAYS. This track is a hidden treasure. It will only get better with Your support as Racers, and the dedication of the staff. I have been a racer and a spectator at this track since the mid sixtys. Yes, I do go to the other tracks in the D5, and a few Nationals from one coast to the other every year. No I am not a Class racer. Stock and Super Stock are my favorite class. Period. I dont think as Racers, You will get the treament and the number of passes at BIR or Thunder Valley as You will at "TED", btw that is my nickname for TOPEND DRAGWAY. This request for Your support has nothing to do with supporting the new owner, but it is about supporting this track. You will get HOOKED on it. Just come and try it out.

This place can be FUN!
The motels are cheap.
It's not that far to go for the majority of the racers that show at BIR or Marion.
Supporting this track can only benefit the S/SS community!!
They want us to race with them!

Well here is the deal...

This is a track that is Begging the Stock Super Stock GUYS TO COME AND RACE!
We need to get a good car count out IN FARGO TopEnd Dragway for this S/SS COMBO.

This event will be a true S/SS combo with scales AND heads-up with every thing the way it should be!
Not just a glorified bracket race!

We truly NEED TO SUPPORT this track and the New Owner!

He wants US and WE need him!

For those of you who can not make it; for what ever reason;
I understand that you can't go to every race.

However, when you have a place to race S/SS the way it was meant to be raced
With killer traction and a friendly helpful staff.
THEN BY ALL MEANS we as S/SS racers have an obligation to support it & it's endeavors!

Lets show this place some respect for taking a chance on us!

It's going to be fun!!!

Hello fellow S/SS racers!

Response to this excellent opportunity has been very light.

We are respectfully looking for a number of cars who will show up.
How many can make this race?

At the last race only 6 cars showed:(

I think we need 20 cars to make this a feasible deal.

With all due respect...
Saving the embarrassment of the local S/SS class racers as a group
If we don't have the car count...
I think we should let the track know.

Please let us know if you can make it. Or not.
We would NOT want to waste the tracks time and $$.

This will, more than likely; be our last chance for a S/SS combo at this track if we do not support it.

So lets get it going!
We WILL have FUN!

Yes
You pay $35 to the track for track use only.
The rest is decided by the racers.
Last time I think we put in $60 each and split the pot among the winners.

If we can get some cars out the pot will be bigger.

And you get the cash that day!!
No looking for someone to pay you or give you a check or mail it to you.

Maybe Rick Ryan could chime in here. He was in charge of that end of things.

My job was to promote the race and get some cars out for it.
I failed.
We had only 6 cars to show.

The weather was Perfect!
So was the traction!
SOOOO.... Where were the cars??

I get the feeling that this race and track are not ( for what ever reason ) are not being supported by the S/SS racers?

I don't get it!?
$4.05 a gallon for fuel why would you drive 8,9,10, hrs. to race.
When you have an track that is 3-4 hrs. away For most, that is;
is begging you to come and race; and having a true S/SS Combo for you?

Lets give this place the shot it's looking for and have FUN doing it!!

Sorry Brent,
I haven't been on the computer much the last few days. Entry fee is $35 dollars at the gate. Then $65 in staging lanes for the purse. Unfortunately we don't have any added money to the purse at this time. So the purse is completely based on the car count. Obviously, with a limited car count the purse is heavy toward the finals since it's only a couple rounds. We'd like to do this again next year and plan on working to try and get some sponsor money. However, if we don't have at least a respectable car count. Management will probably pass on the idea of having more races.
Glen is correct with everything he's said. These guys do want us to be there and enjoy their facility. The track was great on Saturday and the few that made some test runs on Sunday said it was even better. This would be a great weekend to help try some things before the Nats in Brainerd.
Hopefully we can get enough interest to keep this facility a viable option for S/SS racing in the future.

I hope the new owner can get this track back to where it once was! There has always been great people to race with there! I will be there with one car so hopefully we will have a good showing!

We had a very low car count of 9.
This was a bit of a let down.

!!! But !!

We did have FUN!
We even had the SS/S legend
Jerry Ryan in attendance with us.
It was very good to see him again.
He threw in the 10th car entry $$ so the payout started 2nd round.
How nice is that!!??

Brett Speer had his "new" Super Stocker on hand and found himself swiftly in the final
round on both days!!

Sat. It was Glen DeMenge over Brett Speer.

We had a pizza & adult beverage
party Sat. Night and it was a real
good time!

Sun. Found Ron Mattson taking the all cash win
over Brett Speer.

The traction was AWESOME!!!!
I went a 1.38 60’ in E/SA

I do wish we had more cars that could have made it.

In the works for 2012 are some more S/SS combos.

I will keep you updated.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank
Top End Dragway for the excellent hospitality,
traction and kind helpful staff.

Top End Dragway it’s new owner and staff
are a must try for any drag racer!

Lets all keep this in mind for next year and
give this place a shot!!
They LOVE S/SS race cars and want us
to race with them!

Congrats to Glen on the first day! Wish I could have kept it green but I guess I got my payback on Sunday!! Also Congrats to Ron Mattson for finally beating me!! I had that one coming! .002 stripe! Great race!

Thanks to Glen and Rick Ryan on putting it together! Wish we could have had more cars but it was a great weekend and I thought it was ran pretty smoothly! Top End Dragways has a lot of potential with the new owner and I'm looking forward to getting that place going again!
