Fernandez, the bile rises in my throat as I say this: I do like your car and am impressed with not only its existence, but its performance. You must be congratulated for the effort.


It’s not a Camaro…no Powerglide….no Quadrajet….no DP or Shelby…and only six pistons. 13.60’s is VERY impressive for such a car. Only a Hudson Hornet with a 308 might kick your ***.


A run by your Gremlin is far more interesting than something from a Fletcher or Biando. But then again, they don't understand what we do.


Having said that, I must now return to having complete contempt for you.

Just for the record I met Ed at e-town this weekend. He was a very knd guy chatted with him for a bit he maybe tough on people on here but a joy to meet. Thank you Ed for you time god bless and the best of luck for you the family and the little amc.

How's that little ugly mopar running? I see Ms. Angela is always up there in the top qualifiers with her little Valiant....! I'm building a 65 2 dr sedan V100 for next year...It should be a sneaky quick little package. Sorry, didn't mean to jack the thread...You rule Mr. Ed. The only thing that would be cooler than the gremlin would be a pacer or matador. Didn't they make a Hornet, too?

Thank you.They do make both but I've raced two gremlins for a total of 33 years.They grow on you.There is a pacer in stock out of Vancouver Canada.Jim Mantle owns and drives it.Same engine combo but the pacer is heavier than a gremlin so he runs V/SA.And he's plenty quick against his index.

Jim Mantle is one smart dude! And a heck of a nice guy. He and Ralph Peak have run AMC stuff for a looooong time! I have my eye on a 68 Javelin SST that I might just have to pick his brain about for a Stocker.

You know Ed, that car is pretty to a certain segment of the community. However, that being said, I ain't saying anything else. It needs to be factored of course. It's not a 69 Camaro, so it needs hp.

I find it incredible that people who have never met Ed or don't know him find he turns their stomach. At least get to know Ed first, spend some time with him and then see how ill you feel... Jeff,I don't know about pretty but at every race I go to it does attract a lot of people and positive comments.As far as hp I don't thing the factoring on the combo is out of line.My engine guy knows these engines pretty well and he said if I ever came up with some
green there's still quite a bit more left on the table.I'm sure Jim gets his share of compliments on the pacer also.

I have a friend in R.I. who met Ed back when he was running his Chevelle and he has told me Ed is a great guy. He also mentioned how unique his trailer was. Unfortunately we are both former stock racers due to the current economy. .:eek:
Someday I hope to have the honor of meeting Ed and maybe he will be at New England for the divisional.
